At least you could have told me....

This was the best case scenario for the Sonics.  Yes. Shaq is old, but he is still 7'1'' and 340 lbs with B+ inside and A- defense.  Can't beat that.

Dirk/Shaq/English is possibly the best 1-2-3 trio in the SSBA now.

Kundla's abilities started to drop, and Peja just didn't fit in (wish I had held onto Diddle and Deng!).

Shaq, Dirk, Dickau, Posey, English....definitely the best 1-through-5 in the game...at least I hope.

By the way, Posey is a pretty good addition too.

I'm not sure Shaq has anything left in the tank.

I like this for the Suns. Shaq clearly can't carry a team anymore, and the Suns get the youngest player in the deal.

Shaq isent the player he once was, and Posey has been a little dissapointing to me since he came over from the Nuggets last season.

I add Kundla who's a young sg with good defense, and Camby who isent a scorer, but Magliore and Collison will make up for his lack of scoring.

I take a big risk on Peja, his numbers have been down the past 2 seasons, but i hope its due to the fact that there were other scorers on the Sonics. If Peja rounds back into form, he can add the scoring punch i've been lacking. it wont help me this season, but hopefully give me a foundation to build on for next season.

Fine deal for the Suns.

Kundla isn't the offensive player Posey is, but these two shoot identical percentages. Just Trent is a generation younger. Peja and Camby can finally put the Suns back on track, filling the missing starter role(s). So the Suns definitely got better.

Well, the Sonics didn't hesitate to run the Shaq II experiment, which leaves me a bit puzzled. They got older, but not better. Posey will have to start at SG since the Watson sweepstakes will be over soon and the English/Earl backcourt isn't exactly a winning one. So Shaq and Posey will provide some more offense, but for a team scoring 102ppg that hardly was a problem. And I doubt that they improved the defense here.

Interesting deal nonetheless, the CAVS definitely won't like it ...

I think Sonics wanted just to get rid of Peja's contract and Camby was the price IMO.

I got bigger in the middle and added better overall defense.

Plus, I can go inside to Shaq now, opening English and Dirk outside for more shots.

That's it, that is one reason this deal makes sense, unless ...

Wouldn't it be funny if Shaq now pulls a Mutombo ...

... and plays on this bloated contract until age 39 !

Anyone find it funny how players just bounce back and forth to the same team?

And good players, too.  Shaq back to the Sonics.  Gooden and the Cavs.  MoPete and the Celtics (alright, so maybe he's not so good).  I'm sure there are others I just can't think of now.

Way to go bods, two mistakes in one paragraph.

In 22 games this year, the big fella has shot 50% or better exactly 3 times. Combine the resulting 40% with 14 shot attempts (Camby hits 35% but has just 5 attempts) and you know Dirk might be pissed soon. Of course, making him an option or even the top option (CHIP !!!) at this stage of his career is a very bad idea.

But i agree with the Sonics that he's ahead of Camby on defense (except blocks), holding anyone but Zach and Oscar below 50% as well.

Sim 3 shaq was 16/11 with 45% shooting and nearly 2 bpg, holding opposing C's to only 10 points/35 minutes and 38% shooting (both marks best on the team).  That's still good in my book.  Not dominant, not worth his contract, but good.

I love this trade for the Suns, Camby can replace Shaq D and rebounding and Peja will give them points.   They also get a young sg.
