Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: GoldenStateGM on October 20, 2005, 08:59:22 AM Well, it looks like training camp is tonight.
Huge Training camp for the Warriors. Any improvement in Hinrich would be bonus, I really do not expect anything. Truly hope that Swift and Kobe can just maintain their current levels. If they do that, it is a successful TC for them. Would love to see Deng and Finley improve. Deng had a huge TC last year, so I doubt he will improve. Any improvement likely puts him in the upper echelon of SF's. Really do need some improvement from Finley. If he could at least bump up his rebounding, that would be great. Anything else would be a nice bonus. Would also like to see defensive improvement from Iggy, Springs, Holt, and Rubini. And any improvement in Ruffin would be great as well. My team is very young, so I am hoping for a really good TC this year. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: BullsGM-old on October 20, 2005, 09:03:42 AM Don't you think it will pushed back? We still have to sim FA Day 4 and 5

Remember, the guy has a life too. He got p to something last night, had a few too many, passed out at the local circus under the ferris wheel. He'll do it once he gets back home. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: Str8westcoasta on October 20, 2005, 12:34:03 PM ABSOLUTELY HUGE training camp for the Rockets!!!
This either makes or breaks my rebuilding process. I have put a lot of faith in youth over the alst 2 season with Summitt, Rahim, Doleac and now Barton and I need them to realise their potential soon! Nick Abdur-Rahim C 23 7'0'' 270 B- D+ D B B- B - I'd like to see: B D+ D B B B (upgrades in inside and rebounding) Carlos Boozer PF 26 6'9'' 258 B+ C- C+ B A B - I'd like to see B+ C- C+ B+ A B (an upgrade in defense) Rasheed Wallace SF 34 6'11'' 230 B- B C- A- C D - Stay the same and I have no beef! :) Benjamin Wolkowyski SF 21 6'7'' 224 C B+ C+ C+ C- B - If one of those C+'s turns to a B-, I'll be happy Patrick Doleac SF 24 6'10'' 216 C+ C+ C C+ C- A - High hoeps! B- B- C B- C- A :D (A potential it could happen.... ) Barton O'Connell PG 21 5'11'' 196 C A- A- C D A - Come on you beauty! Maybe... C A- A B- D A, to much to ask? I hope guys like Finley, Sheed, Summitt and Kandi don't fall and I really need my young guns to step up. If not it could be another season of mediocrity... (is that a word? is now!) Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: BlazersGM on October 20, 2005, 01:48:11 PM C Cunningham B+ C- C- C+ B- C, hope he improves either handling or defense
PF Buehler B- C D- B B A, high hopes there, inside and defense(or handling would be great) PF Harrington B- C+ C C B- B, any improvement would be great, or stay cool SF Mitchell C C C C C- A, whatever SG Shultz B- B- C- B C A, shooting and D, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee SG/SF Houbregs B- A- C C D+ B, improving outside and D would be great PG Telf B- B- B B- D+ A handling, defense and shooting pleaseeeeeeeeeeee,at least hn PG Perry C- C+ B- A- C A , man you better get a good TC or i'm screwed, handling and defense would be ideal. Other guys please stay the same (or improve if you still can) Blazers Managment Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: NetsGM on October 20, 2005, 02:26:48 PM Hoping turkoglu improves some. B- B would be great offensively.
Praying Boykins stays the same. Okafor and Pettit still have potential, but any more development would be gravy. Hoping Brad Miller doesn't show his age quite yet. Really, my team is in the 26-30 range, so I'm not hoping for (and expecting) much. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: SpursGM-old on October 20, 2005, 03:03:03 PM I have just one big wish...that Mikan rewards me with a good TC (+3 or 4 levels- preferably in defense & rebounding) after I rewarded him with a 4 year contract. Holding A potential for four years; it is time for him to realize it.
Otherwise I will be happy to just have everyone maintain or slightly improve. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: CavsGM on October 20, 2005, 03:10:45 PM Hoping for...
Chamberlain to improve in either offense or defense Keogan to improve in defense Holton to improve in offense and rebounding That's pretty much it, actually... Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: CelticsGM on October 20, 2005, 03:28:53 PM Celtics wish list to "Santa TC":
Duncan obviously, being still A pot after 3 seasons, is due for some improvement. Gasol had a subpar last TC too with pot B so there is at least some hope. Al Jefferson hopefully doesn't go down, he improved so much last 3 TCs i can't expect this to go on. Lenard, Mihm, Tower, Van Exel and Elliott all carry A and B pot so some of this bunch should see some ratings go up, with Elliott the least likely since he led the league in improvement last year. And then there's the rest of my starters, Chauncey, Ginobili and Booth, all of these past their 30th anniversary, so I don't have high hopes here. But as our guru bods once proclaimed: A good TC isn't necessarily translating into a good season ... 8) Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: HornetsGM on October 20, 2005, 03:54:05 PM I want Swift and Livingston to have good TCs. I'm not really expecting improvements for anyone else. I'd be happy if Pavel's rebounding went to a B+ though.
Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: MavsGM on October 20, 2005, 03:58:52 PM I just hope my team will have more +'s then -'s ratings.
Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: ClippersGM-old on October 20, 2005, 04:15:46 PM Clippers TC wishlist!
- Chandler to get B+ inside and/or get better ballhandling (funny thing, he has B potential where he had D potential a couple seasons ago). - Broderick Baylor. Getting better at inside scoring and rebounding. If defense and outside improves... look for a very big small forward in the Clippers lineup next season. - Jackson Finley. Inside scoring and defense. Maybe also handling. He could be something special. - Ben Gordon... in the words of M.L.King... I have a dream... of him becoming the best player in ssba. But would be very happy with improving his handling! Also inside scoring! - Cody Bee. Improve in hanling so he can be a good backup pg that I can count on. - Shawn Nichols.... a project... I wonder what he will bring. - Everybody else..... please stay the same or get a little better! Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: HawksGM on October 20, 2005, 06:21:06 PM My whole season rests on TC, obviously it's not going to be playoffs anyway but I would like to see defensive improvements out of all of my players. Ivan's future pretty much will be decided in this TC. I'm hoping Marion has a great TC and hopefully Marquez is wrong on that D potential. Defensive improvements is all I ask for.
Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: KingsGM-old on October 21, 2005, 11:18:23 AM Meaningless TC for the Kings.
Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: RaptorsGM on October 21, 2005, 11:19:27 AM Raps do not expect much from anyone but JDN.
Yao, Hoffa, Nash, Lovie and Stevie all maintaining their worth would be great. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: OldNuggetsGM on October 21, 2005, 11:34:38 AM I'm pretty much just hoping that guys stay the same (i.e. Gadz, Barry, Iverson).
Will be nice if Schenk gets better from the outside (I think that D potential is ultimately wrong), and I'm hopeful that all the draftees improve their defense (Berkowitz especially). I'll also be interested to see what Stockton does. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: BullsGM-old on October 21, 2005, 01:02:47 PM Day 5 FA is simmed, now on to the good stuff!

Billups improved three (3 !!) ratings in offense, defense and handling. YESSS ! Gasol only improved offense and rebounding. Oh noooo :-))) Lenard got better on defense (i know, we'll see if he GOT BETTER, but for now the rating got better ...) Tower may be hard NOT to play this year Duncan should be fine too And nobody save for Booth got worse than a single rating !! Gotta love it ... 8) Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: NetsGM on October 21, 2005, 01:12:38 PM Taking a quick look at the rookies....
Berkowitz's only change was in defense (up to a B-, still great with his rebounding). Buehler went up in defense and rebounding (B+ in both). He was a beast defensively in college, it'll be very interesting to see how that translates. Schultz went up in inside and defense. As for me.... uneventful. Okafor stayed the same, but lost potential. Dalembert lost a defense, went up in an outside shooting (huh?!). Net zero. Pettit stayed the same, but lost a potential. Boykins dropped back down to a B defensively (d'oh!). Battier did improve an outside to an A-. that's nice. Starting lineup basically stayed the same. I did make some gains in my bench. Jamison improved. I'll have a hard time deciding on my 6th man. Having a B- rebounder at SF will be great with my FC. Salmons improved an outside shot. Turkoglu improved one outside and one defense. It's too bad he won't get any pt. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: BullsGM-old on October 21, 2005, 01:16:42 PM Downright DISASTER
Griffin went down to B- rebounding and B- defense (although he went up to B+ inside) Mercer goes down to B+ in both outside and handles Keefe absolutely bombed TC, he's garbage now Crawford went down 1 in outside and 1 in inside offense Hinkle went down in rebounding Anderson went down in Handles Palacio lost his B potential and stayed the same Hedo went down to B offense Dean Drew had a very nice TC, but other than that the only people that improved were my MLE and LLE signing.. Freaking disaster Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: CelticsGM on October 21, 2005, 01:17:12 PM Quote from: NetsGM Boykins dropped back down to a B defensively (d'oh!). ... Billups is now B+ on defense (not to speak of the other improvements. Maybe he was just in a cage with the Nets and finally free now ...)   Title: Training Camp Discussion... Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: HawksGM on October 21, 2005, 01:21:46 PM The Hawks have mixed feelings about TC
THE GOOD: Scott Dickman - improves one in defense, rebounding and inside scoring and kept his potential. Matthew Marion- improves one in handling and defense, but dropped one in potential. I'm expecting Marion to carry more of the load this season. Trenton Dench- improves one in outside scoring and handling, might be hard not to give him some time with that A+ defense. Sandy Carter- improved one in handles, I'm hoping he's the pass first PG i've been looking for to run the offense. THE BAD: Ivan Strong- appears to be a bust and a waste of the 4th pick. He lost his offense and has only improved one rating in 3 TC's, none of which being defense which was his biggest weakness by far. His time as starting PF may be over. Jayson Marquez- went down one in inside offense, outside offense and defense. NOTHING: Jason Collier- went down in rebounding but should still be very effective. Rodya Novoseltev- went up one in outside offense and will earn some time at the point and the SG. Everyone else pretty much did nothing special. I'm looking forward to this season, should be my best with the team, but I'm not expecting playoffs or anything much but an improvement from last season. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: LakersGM-old on October 21, 2005, 01:23:31 PM Wade went down, one rating with his handle but went up in outside which will allow him to score more. I need that out of him. Gary Newton's D potential changed to a C which is very relieving. Peters didnt get any better letter grade wise, Randolphs defense got worse, and Haywoods inside got worse along with his potential which changed to a D. YIKES, hoepfully I can FINALLY get into the playoffs this season.
Title: Not a bad camp, not a great one either... Post by: Str8westcoasta on October 21, 2005, 01:23:36 PM - Abdur-Rahim continues to dissapoint, he lost potential and since he was drafted has dropped in inside scoring and is otherwise unchanged.
- Udonis Haslem did very well. IMproved rebounding AND inside scoring to B from B- - Sheed lost some outside and defense - Boozer lost some rebounding. Fuck! - Summitt lost some inside but gained defense, I'll take that as Defense has been a major problem. - Barton O'Connell: Improved handle to A from A-, improved defense from C- to C+, maintained his A potential!!! Very happy! - Herbert Stewart improved his handle and defense to A- and C respectively. Title: grizz Post by: GrizzliesGM on October 21, 2005, 01:23:52 PM I had a decent tc.
-Biedrens went up to A- in inside but went down in defense -Robertson went up to B+ in inside! -Carson Parker is now a bust -Nesterovic went down one in defense -Ben Wallace pretty much stayed even! -Richardson and lewis pretty much stayed the same but jrich went up in D -Joe Johnson went to a D in potential, oh well -williams improved his defense and my rookies valdez imroved either handling or outside(i forget). Overall a pretty good tc. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: HawksGM on October 21, 2005, 01:30:46 PM Quote from: NetsGM who the f is Curtis Sura?!?! (http://ssba.phillyarena.net/players/player44.htm) i saw him before TC but he definitely wasn't that good. He was like B B+ B- or something to that effect, but he definitely broke out. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: GoldenStateGM on October 21, 2005, 01:36:58 PM Hmm, not what I was hoping for, but still a decent TC.
Jim Finley Down a handle... Really needed some gains from him. Phillip Rubini Gained a handle and a defense, and kept his A potential. Nice improvement, but likely does not get him on the court yet. Charles Lavalley leapt up to an A- defender, which is quite nice. Stromile Swift gained one handle, which is great. Don Ruffin is now very nice. Gained an inside, defense, and an outside, lost a handle. He is now an A defender. Might move Swift to center, and start Ruffin at PF. Luol Deng lost an outside... grrrr... Iggy had a great camp. He gained a handle and a defense, and kept the B potential. He is now a SF with a B+ handle. :) Dean Springs gained and outside and a handle, and kept his A potential. he is looking pretty good right now. Holt lost a defense, and lost potential, and Hinrich just lost a potential. Overall, a positive camp. Have some tough decisions to make now... Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: CelticsGM on October 21, 2005, 01:37:43 PM Quote from: NetsGM who the f is Curtis Sura?!?! (http://ssba.phillyarena.net/players/player44.htm) Career hight 7pt, 4rb, 6as, 2st. Last TC his outside and handling improved from C+ C+ to B B, and now to A- A- A superstar in the making. 2 great TCs in a row ... :P Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: JazzGM-old on October 21, 2005, 01:45:46 PM Jazz went down a net -4....Kaman got worse which means I lost out on the Booth trade, but you gotta roll the dice sometimes. Curran went +1 in handles which i really don't know how to take since he plays inside, but he's played awesome for me and so any improvement I will gladly take. Smith went -1 in defense which hurts because I have such a stockhold of mediocrity inside with Curran as my best player and his game is limited to shotblocking and scoring. Hughes went -1 in outside and +1 in handles...he's been at his current offensive ratings for most of his career and only improved his ppg by a little over a point when he was B+/B in/out. Kirilenko went down one in outside scoring but goes +1 in rebounding so he is once again a triple-double threat. Meyers improved +1 with handles which hopefully means more production when he's in. Sadly Beardslee's handles went down which hurts his flexibility to backup the SG position and good ol' Shabby went -1 with handles which probably just reflects his actual performance. Dee Mckinnee proved that he wants the backup position over Daniels which he has earned and he may even start eventually depending on his a/to ratio. So what this means is Murphy will see more minutes, Kirilenko may play some PF. Meyers may play some SF and Who the hell knows what i'm going to do with my rotations inside. To top it off, I don't even have a draft pick for this upcoming draft. As I am a year away from a rebuilding season, and by no means do i think i'll be winning any championships this year, fans will get let down this year as i'm going to be compettive, but surely not competitive enough to go too far in the playoffs.

Post by: CelticsGM on October 21, 2005, 02:01:22 PM btw, Guitierrez on the Kings also held all the promise that came with him before TC. 5 net points improvement, mostly in handling and defense.
Ivan lucked out again there ... Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: OldNuggetsGM on October 21, 2005, 02:16:25 PM Not a good TC in the Mile High City.
Berkowitz went +1 in D, but both Buehler and Dickman improved more; Antone did keep his A potential, though, so we'll see what happens. AI dropped an outside, which isn't good, and Gadzuric dropped an inside, so that sucks (considering his FG% blows already). Schenk dropped 1 in handle and 2 in defense, and very well may have lost the starting PG position to Ridnour, who improved 1 each in outside and defense. Barry, the likely starter at SF, dropped one in defense, as did Glover. Cronin dropped one each in outside and defense, and should consider himself lucky to still be employed. Butler gained a handle and kept his potential. Raymond Bee, signed with the MLE, showed his gratefulness by dropping 1 in defense. Speer, the 2nd pick of the 2nd round, also dropped 1 in defense, although that was mitigated by Costello improving 1 in defense and 2 in rebounding. I went through and looked at the rookies, and no one really exploded. Dickman, Buehler, Shultz, and Gutierrez seemed to fare the best. And how about that Curtis Sura? Not bad for a guy picked at the end of the first round. It reminds me of Earl Boykins' explosion 3 or so seasons ago, when he went up like 5 or 6 attributes in one year, going from a bench guy to a starter overnight. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: Iverson2Korver43 on October 21, 2005, 02:18:39 PM Pistons have yet another so-so TC:
Positives Schmaltz: +1 Rebounding Ratliff: +1 Rebounding Doleac: +1 Potential(up to a "B") Kim: +1 Inside, +3 Handles, +1 Rebounding, -1 Potential(down to a "B") Neutral Manning: +1 Defense, -1 Rebounding Dunleavy: + 1 Handles, -1 Inside Davis: +1 Outside, -1 Defense Tinsley: SAME Redd: -1 Handles, +1 Potential Negatives Booth: -1 defense, -1 rebounding Evans: -1 inside Eisley: Didn't even check the differences, I just cut his rotten ass... Van Horn: -1 Inside, -1 Handles, -2 rebounding, +1 Potential Nesterovich: JUNK... Pete Chilcutt could beat this guy one-on-one... Very happy with Kim, even though I would have preferred that +3 jump in any other category than Handles... Most of my bigs improved and not much changed with the rest of my players that will actually see minutes... Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: BlazersGM on October 21, 2005, 02:30:01 PM I had a great TC :
Cunningham improved like i hoped his defense :) Moiso i wanted to stay the same but he improved Handling :) Harrington went down in Inside :) C-Webb improved inside despite his 35 age :) :) Nene went down in inside but he's 3rd 4th option so i don't care Buehler improved handling, defense and rebounding :) :) :) Shultz improved inside, handling, defense :) :) :) Sapp improved defense, went down in handling :) Houbregs improved defense :) :) Telfair improved outside and defense, wish his did handling also :) :) Perry improved handling and rebounding, went down in D :) Zollner improved outside :) :) Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: SpursGM-old on October 21, 2005, 02:38:53 PM Best TC ever for the Spurs....+ 11 overall.
Russell +2 outside, +2 defense to A- in both categories. He did drop 1 in inside scoring. Etan Thomas +1 reb +1 inside Mihm +1 inside Schabinger +1 def and potential increased to A. Could push Allen for the starting spot. Uner +2 outside, +1 handles, +1 def, -1 inside and kept A potential Mikan disappointed big time. After receiving a big 4 year extension all he did was drop in potential to a B. Although with a C+ def & B reb he is still an adequate backup. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: CavsGM on October 21, 2005, 03:25:50 PM Freakin absolute disaster.
The bad, and there's a lot of it... Chamberlain - down 1 in defense and potential. I was hoping for more... Keogan - stays the same, for the 2nd straight year. Dude is just teasing me... Nesterovich - Impressive TC last year, going up 3 ratings. Now, he goes down 3. Ugh... Carter - Up one in outside, down one in handles. Eh... Songaila - Down in inside and defense. Worthless MLE signing. Holton - Down one in inside and potential. Defense is his name, the rest is a shame... Evan Lo - WTF, he goes down in rebounding and defense. Before he was C+/C+, which was bad enough, but C/C is terrible. Before his offense made it worth it to give him good minutes off the bench. Now I'm not so sure... Gooden - Down in inside and outside. He's still good, but I at least wanted him to stay the same. Hager - I give this guy a 2nd year option thinking he will improve nicely. He goes down two ratings and loses his potential. Great... The good... Barbosa - Pretty much the only real bright spot of this TC. Went up in outside and handles, now has A shooting, B- handles to go with A- defense. That's pretty damn good for a backup PG/SG. Verduzco - Some 2nd rounder goes up in two ratings. Tsakalidis - Goes up in defense. Not bad. So all in all, this is without a doubt an extremely poor training camp for the Cavs. Hopefully the team can overcome it... Title: Training Camp Discussion... best two players drop in TC... Mercer seems to have the craziest TC's of any player. But Hinkle is goes up to a C+ rebounding, which is incredible for a SG. Dean Drew goes up in inside, outside, handle and defense, making him one of the deadliest offensive players in the game. And Palacio is now a very good offensive player as well, particularly for a 19 year old. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: Anonymous on October 21, 2005, 04:56:31 PM Yuck

Yao goes 1 up in inside and 1 down in defense. Would rather he have not made that switch, but whatever. Hoffa lost a handle. Sampson had a good TC, going up 1 in defense and 1 in rebounding. Quite happy about him as a 6th man. JDN improved a handle, but that's all...and lost a potential. Was hoping for more, but oh well. Francis improved his handle, thank God. Longley had a decent TC and now may be the first swingman off the bench, as Lovie gained a handle but lost a defense. Nash stayed the same, thank God. Down to a F potential, but who cares. My team will be ready. Title: Training Camp Discussion... Post by: MagicGM on October 21, 2005, 07:17:29 PM could have gotten that damn Curtis :D

Carl harping improved his defense....he'll probably have 2bpg and above RICARDO TSAKALIDIS- he is now better than curry rating wise.... and has a B pot Vlad improved is outside shooting but loses defense.... Q rich... who is a true SF... improves his outside would probably score 24ppg or above.... JUAN WARD- what can i say? big money pays... he has two successful TC...i like his defense to improved and it did....his still 22 with B pot, Toby and Harley remains awesome.... Ivan has improved his defense... and has an A pot....i think he should play Sg with his C+ handling.... Damon JOnes? still reliable PG...but im afraid his defense is really crappy now.... iv got a ton of good PGs, and two good SF, 2 Good PF, and a center.... wow... i really dont know who to start...hehehe ill let the computer decide first...iv got a LOT of experimenting to do Title: Training Camp Discussion...
