can steve smith (SG) replace during the game for example donyell marshall (SF) or i have to change his position?

Anyway, yes, you can put the guy's anywhere, regardless of what their position is listed as.

For example, I have Carlos Boozer playing C, even though he's listed as a PF.

you don't understand...i know i can change players position, but i want ask: can a shooting guard replace small forward without changing it's position or i have to do that every game (depending on opponent)?

You can list a player at any position as long you put it on your depth chart.  For example, PG: Ai/Green/Ai, SG: Iggy/Ai/Korver, Korver, Williamson, Salmons...

Go to the depth chart forum:

Look at how others have done theirs.  Then post yours.  This is how you determine where people will play.  What's listed on the website means nothing, except predicting how they will perform when you play them at that position.
