Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: SonicsGM on October 09, 2005, 06:07:57 PM Sonics Trade:
Hornets 2010 First Rounder (#26) Blazers Trade: Earl Watson This trade cannot go into effect until after the pick is made, I will allow the Blazers to make the selection for me. Sonics agree. Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 09, 2005, 06:18:34 PM Agree
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: KingsGM-old on October 09, 2005, 06:21:42 PM Why the hell did you do that? You won't find NO ONE better at 26.
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 09, 2005, 06:25:52 PM You'll see why soon
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: CelticsGM on October 09, 2005, 07:18:30 PM like that deal for the Blazers ... and the Sonics don't need another low pick eating their sal cap for 4 years
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: CavsGM on October 09, 2005, 07:21:02 PM Quote Blazers send Vitaly Potapenko Blazers 2011 1st rounder Celtics send Earl Watson :screwy: Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 09, 2005, 08:34:06 PM Quote from: CavsGM Quote Blazers send Vitaly Potapenko Blazers 2011 1st rounder Celtics send Earl Watson :screwy: With 19 PG's capable of becoming another Watson or better, i basically traded 29 y.o Watson for younger PG who will be around his stats already,or in 1-3 seasons, and with a longer contract, most PG's are undersized but there's lots of A pot PG's and lots with already good hn and df or hn and shooting, lots of A/B +-, so unless everybody goes for PG's, i should be able to get one of TOP 10 PG's in draft (and in my analyze of TOP 10 PG prospects, they will all be better then Watson), so it's just Watson for younger PG possibly with A pot and good ratings already, even the pick is high, if PG's go, i'll get a good backup PF then due to my calculations. Anyway deal is fine for me. Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: HawksGM on October 09, 2005, 08:42:24 PM yea, it's not like you need a great pg anyway because Telfair has been very reliable. I like the deal, I must see more in the draft than most, but I think this draft is pretty good, maybe it's just what I feel my needs are.
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 09, 2005, 08:45:47 PM i just need backup PG, i'm not looking for a better one then Telf of course, this draft is not good, is average i would say, not weak, has some fine PF and SG prospects, very little SF, lots of PG's, just 1 center
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: HawksGM on October 09, 2005, 08:48:51 PM I thinks this is the 3rd best draft we've had, the potential in this draft is really good, who knows how many of those are gonna be right and whose potentials are way off but yea it's an average draft.
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: CavsGM on October 09, 2005, 08:59:00 PM Umm Blazers, try reading. That was your previous trade that I posted, trading for Watson. So all in all, how low do you think your pick will be next year? No way that it's getting out of the top 20. Probably around 15. You traded for the 26th pick in this deal... Therefore the reason for the :screwy:
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 09, 2005, 09:02:32 PM well i think my pick next year will depend on FA and TC, it might be even higher like 20, but it doesnt matter, i know what i'm doing, and trust me i might have a even better pick next year then blazers gave to celtics in doing one possible trade not including any of TOP 2 rookies this year and either Telf, so let's wait and see. (i know what you think and talk about hehehe, but like i said let's see)
I should do more trades maybe, it makes people very active in posting :D Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: NetsGM on October 09, 2005, 09:20:43 PM It depends on how this draft shakes up.
2 of the top 3 picks and cap space is powerful to build a team. Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: NetsGM on October 09, 2005, 11:08:45 PM Remember, I will only accept the draft pick list via the Sonics, not the Blazers. He has to send me the list.

The two picks are good (although still not a fan of Buehler) But, the Hawks have had cap space the last 2 years in free agancy, and we have learned how important win rating can be. Blazers have a 30 win rating. Free agency may be tough. But, I do like the young group of Russel, Schultz, and Telfair. They can definitely score, but that has never been the Blazers issue. :) Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 11, 2005, 04:09:50 PM yeah, its more Suns type of team damn

But, just like the team you have now, he had a team that was very good on offense, and very bad on defense. Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 11, 2005, 05:19:16 PM yeah damn, hopefully youngsters will improve their D in 2-3 seasons

Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: SonicsGM on October 13, 2005, 05:22:12 PM I love this deal now...look at the difference:
Earl Watson: PG - Makes $1 million this year 29 6'1'' 190 C+ C A- A- C- C John Mitchell: SF - Makes $1.7 million this year 24 6'5'' 219 C C C C C- A Watson immediately becomes my backup PG, allowing Blake more time at the SG position. (by the way, Blake finished top-10 in FG percentage two of the last three years while playing both guard positions). I finally get a very good ballhandler to play behind English. Oh yes, he is a very good defender as well. I think this was a great deal for the Sonics. Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: CelticsGM on October 13, 2005, 05:47:32 PM I had Watson.
Sonics, I'm not convinced ... Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: SonicsGM on October 13, 2005, 05:56:41 PM Quote from: CelticsGM I had Watson. Sonics, I'm not convinced ... when you 'had' Watson, what players did you have around him? that's a big difference. Sonics, I'm not convinced ... when you 'had' Watson, what players did you have around him? that's a big difference. all i asked of him was "defend" and "don't turn the ball over". He did neither. And this in a lineup with Booth, Gasol, Ginobili, Jamison and the rest. But I don't worry, I'm sure you'll find a phantom injury for him to keep him stuck on IR before he hurts the Sonics too much. As I said, good luck ... Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: NetsGM on October 13, 2005, 07:24:47 PM Erm...Watson played 5 games and a grand total of 84 minutes with you. I wouldn't quite call you the expert :)
I got to 52 wins with Earl as my starting pg. And he was traded to me by..... ding ding ding. The sonics. As for the trade....It was part of the Blazers plan. I don't know why it makes it a good trade, but it was part of the plan. Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: CavsGM on October 13, 2005, 07:30:06 PM If part of the plan is to trade one pick for a lower pick, then this plan is working...
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 13, 2005, 08:20:34 PM I had 3-4 guys higher on my list, was looking for a PG, but they went with 21-25 pick if i'm not wrong, this sucks a bit, 'cause i wanted PG or PF/C actually, but still it's fine, i'll find sub for telf, and hopefully this guy will develop to a very decent backup player, my biggest wish Berkowitz unfortunately went nr.1, so i got PF/SF and SG in draft, now i'm packed with talent on SG/SF position, but well, let's wait FA to see if i can snap some fine C or PF, then things gonna be good
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: KingsGM-old on October 13, 2005, 08:32:39 PM Some fine C or PF? On FA??!!
Title: Sonics/Blazers trade... - waiting post rd 1 Post by: BlazersGM on October 13, 2005, 08:37:30 PM Was looking for decent C or PF backup or possibly starter in FA and draft, but lost Berk as PF starter, and bla bla.................
