Is this the first time a second round pick has been selected our leagues rookie of the year? even going back to the old league, i cant remember a non first round pick being the ROY.

anyway, it was a great pick by Bulls GM.

You could even ask NetsGM, he was on my list for my 16th pick and I was slightly considering putting him on my list for my 11th pick

I could not believe he slipped, and I'm VERY, VERY happy we implemented that 2nd rounder rule

I had the 6th pick in the second last season, and i wanted him there, but i dont think i would have given him the opportunity you did, so he probally wouldent have been rookie of the year. However, it was a great pickup by you, and it is very good we have the second round rule, which I think we should now call the Mark Bird rule(since it was him that started the whole question of second round pick increased salaries)

The funny thing is, I can't take full credit for initially starting Drew.  Fact is, Jamal Crawford was supposed to be my starting SG.  I put Craw as the starting sg on my DC but it was after Bods ran the sim taht I found out I had to wait 60 days.  Because of this, my SG position was computer reccomended the first sim and it chose Drew to start (he was slated as my backup I believe).

If that didn't happen who knows, Drew may have never gotten the full time startering job.  Makes you think...

Yeah, Drew was a nice pick. I had the 3rd pick of the 2nd round and I was going to select him - even though I already had Crawford, Curry & Wells.

It had more to do (at the time) with the offense that I wanted to run (outside) and his strength (outside shooting) but he still was a great pick.

Although I don't know if he would have won Rookie of the Year had Trevor Wells not got hurt    :x

Yeah, theres no way Drew would have won if Wells didn't miss 20 games.  FBB has always been messed with these awards, I would have at least given it to Keogan, but hey, I'll take it  :)

That's why we implemented the 2nd year rule. Now the Bulls can offer him a MULTIYEAR contract starting at MLE level ...

But, teams with cap-room could offer MORE than the MLE if he is that good...

sure, up to the max offer. But thats really the only downside of this.

Before the rule your offer could start at 550k only ...

Like Celtics said, now at least I have a CHANCE.  We'll see what happens, there's still another year

or you could have offered your own LLE or MLE...  It was done so you could sign them to a multi-year deal the starts out at the same as the MLE...
