Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: JazzGM-old on September 26, 2005, 06:35:59 PM I have 5 games, all on the road....need some wins here to keep my position in my division. Hopefully now that I've had a sim for my changes to settle in, I should see some better results.
Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 26, 2005, 06:44:09 PM I'd love to get back in the plyoff hunt...but I'm 5.5 games back of 8th spot and i don't know if there is enough time to catch up.
Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on September 26, 2005, 06:44:45 PM I hope to continue my furious hot streak
I play the Nuggets, Hornets, Sixers, Warriors, Pistons, Wolves and Bucks. Hoping to go 5-2 or 6-1 Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 26, 2005, 10:47:23 PM Sim 10 up.
Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 26, 2005, 10:56:40 PM Wow.
What can I saiy. 7-1 Sim. Now 3.5 games back of 8th in the East. Warriors had a fantastic sim too, so it looks like it worked out for everyone. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 26, 2005, 10:57:46 PM Talk about unexpected... Wow...
Warriors went 7-1 this sim... Had 4 or more players in double figures in 7 games. Absolutely thrilled... More analysis to follow. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: BucksGM on September 26, 2005, 11:09:18 PM i had a tough stretch and went 4-4, a few of which without Baron.
Pierce was impressive, barely missing 2 double doubles. Was player of the game a few times. next sim i'll change my DC to get Cardinal in the game. And I might go with Pierce at 2 and Smith at 3 Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 26, 2005, 11:19:37 PM Not exaclty the greatest sim (4-2), but was able to withstand some tough injuries (Emeka for 7 days, then Billups).
In fact, both of my losses were on games where a player went down (Emeka against the Pistons and Boykins against the Spurs). It'll be interesting to see how the computer delegates minutes. I'm worried Dalembert might lose some minutes. Newcomer Brad Miller was a little inconsistent, but had a nice start with 21/12 and averaged 14.3 and 9.5 on the sim. Emeka only played 3 games, and only 8 minutes one of those 3 games, so his minutes were limited. Boykins struggled a bit before getting injured, shooting only 42.5%. But did have 9.6 assists to 1.6 turnovers. Pettit was...well, amazing. 34.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 3 spg, 50.3%, 47% 3pt. Have 3 more games before Boykins comes back, all against the Heat (2 at home). Unfortunately with the way the Pacers are keeping pace, and having 9 games the last sim, I may not have homecourt wrapped up before that sim. I do have a 15 game lead on 2nd place in the atlantic, though :) There might only be 2 teams in the atlantic to make the playoffs, and possibly none (although it would take a collapse from the Celtics, who are amazing right now. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 26, 2005, 11:21:32 PM Game-by-game breakdown:
Raptors 123 Bucks 94 - In Hoffa's first game he goes for 38 and 11, upstaged by his teammates Yao (48 and 13 with 7 blocks) and Steve Nash (10 points, 12 rebounds, 21 assists  ) Raptors 120 Magic 92 -- Yao leads the way as usual with 45 and 17...a solid team effort. Spurs 117 Raptors 103 -- Yao scores 48 points, grabs 20 boards...but rest of the team goes to shit including Hoffa who fouls out in 18 minutes. Raptors 110 Heat 94 -- Hoffa leads the way with 31 and 20...Yao gets only 17 and 10 in a poor shooting effort, but who cares abot that, t's a team game. Raptors 109 Wolves 96 -- Hoffa carries the load again with 40 and 14...Yao goes for 33 and 17. Raptors 113 Magic 83 -- A split effort this time as Yao gets 31 and 21, Hoffa with 29 and 18. Aesome performance. Raptors 99 Wizards 95 -- Great way to finish off the sim, Yao with 40/11, Hoffa with 28/13. Maybe I will be able to make the playoffs. Hope so. I'll calculate the averages for the sim after whn I get bored of stdying. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: BucksGM on September 26, 2005, 11:23:15 PM Quote Raptors 123 Bucks 94 - In Hoffa's first game he goes for 38 and 11, upstaged by his teammates Yao (48 and 13 with 7 blocks) and Steve Nash (10 points, 12 rebounds, 21 assists Shocked ) Ditto the  That was harsh. Yeah, Nash was amazing this sim. In fact everyone was. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: HornetsGM on September 26, 2005, 11:26:09 PM Bad sim for me, even with mostly home games. I will see what I can do to tweak my lineup before the playoffs.
Title: easy Post by: GrizzliesGM on September 26, 2005, 11:26:45 PM Well now I have the 2nd seed in the west and should be able to maintain that. I knew coming in that I have a really easy schedule the rest of the season. Yay!
Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: BlazersGM on September 26, 2005, 11:27:54 PM not so bad, considering i didnt change my DC after trade on time, went 2-3, linton was a quite suprise, POG once and putting some nice numbers, atough i guess it was CPU sim considering Houbregs played so little, looking forward to next sim to see what Al and Zo can do given more time (Al just started some 10 games, and Zo is newly acquired), and Houbregs given more time now, playing also SF as well SG, he was great all season in shooting, he needs to improve his defence tough, Webber played very bad so i give Al chance to start again after long time.
Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: Iverson2Korver43 on September 26, 2005, 11:37:02 PM Pistons somehow go 5-0; beating the Nets, Bulls, Cavs, 76ers and Grizzlies... Definately a surprise... I averaged 109 ppg and held opponents to 97.6 ppg... I went back to my original settings and the same type of roster set-up... Hopefully I can make the play-offs after a 2-year hiatus...
Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 26, 2005, 11:41:14 PM Had 5 players average double digit points this sim.
Hinrich was incredible, with 21 ppg, 9.8 apg, 5 rpg, on 51% and 58% shooting. Swift was the leading scorer 25 ppg, 11 rpg, 2.8 bpg, on 50% shooting Kobe played great all around... 18 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 5.5 apg, 2.5 spg on 43% and 34% Deng was also a great all-around threat... 13.4 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.6 apg, on 52% and 45% shooting. And Iggy finally comes into his own. In 19 mpg... 10.6 ppg, 3.8 reb, 3.8 apg, on 54% and 62% shooting. Finley got 4 ppg, 9 rpg, and 2 bpg... Ruffin is the best per minute shotblocker in the league... 19 mpg, 2.8 bpg  this sim Hope the team can continue to play like this. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 27, 2005, 12:45:12 AM Ok statistical breakdown of the sim:
I averaged 111 ppg, compared to my opponent's average of 95.9, for a average difference of 15.1 ppg...Wow. Yao averaged 37.3ppg, 15.6rpg, 4.1apg and 2.9 bbpg. How do you spell MVP? Right, Y-A-O. Hoffa averaged 28.3ppg, 13.1rpg, 1bpg. So my front court averages 65.6ppg and 28.7rpg. Diddle, at SF, averaged 10.6ppg, 2.1rpg, 1.6apg and..what for it...0.86bpg..dude must have a hell of a vertical since he's only 6'5...can block shots but can't rebound, lol. Lovelette averaged 9.4ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.3apg...on 64% shooting...SAY WHAT?? Yup, 64% shooting. This guy is the PICTURE of effieciney, easily leading the league in FG% with a blistering 53.9% on the season. And Finally, Nash averaged 14.6ppg, 12apg, 6.6rpg and only 3.9apg..that's a 3.1 a:to %. BEAUTIFUL. A fantastic all-around effort. Let me be the first to say, WELCOME HOME, HOFFA :) Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: PacersGM on September 27, 2005, 03:04:36 AM Quote from: NetsGM Not exaclty the greatest sim (4-2), but was able to withstand some tough injuries (Emeka for 7 days, then Billups). can´t wait to see the reaction of the Celtics  had a 5-1 sim and will fight for that first place till the last sim. if the raptors keep that pace they will fight for the 8th place... wow what a matchup with the nets that would be in the first round  some stats for the last sim 3 guys (JO,Damp and as a backup Cato) avg. more than 10 rbs and 4 more than 5 as a result i hold my opp. to only 45 rbspg ... +9 outscored them by 17 only allowed 26%from outside and had more ass and less TO than my opp. RJ stepped in great for Artest avg. 20ptspg. Without Artest i had a 5-0 run  because of the Injury of Artest Hunter had more playing time and showed his talent. 8ptspg in 9mins while shooting 58% from the field and perfekt from the line. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: CelticsGM on September 27, 2005, 06:52:22 AM Quote from: KingsGM This has to be a BAD KARMA!!! There really is no other explanation! :x  Explanation for those living in another universe: Our dear fellow traded basically half of his starting lineup for expirings and scrubs and immediately followed that by winning 6 out of 8 games this sim (including powerhouses like Sonics, Jazz, Mavs, Sixers and Spurs) WITH those expirings and scrubs playing prominent roles ... Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on September 27, 2005, 07:01:51 AM And what kind of a explanation is that?? :)
Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: CelticsGM on September 27, 2005, 07:04:06 AM Celtics went 7-1 this sim but don't get overexcited.
wins @Hornets and @Clippers were nice, as was going 3-0 at home and 4-1 on the road, but i didn't exactly play the league leaders here. Lenard got me 22.6 on hot 51% shooting, Billups (who's NOT injured contrary to popular believe) around 20ppg, 7apg on 52%. On the downside, Pau avg a season-low 13ppg, 7rpg but the reserves made the most out of the increased opportunities. All in all topped 100ppg again (101.8) on 46% shooting holding the opponent to 91ppg on 40% (31% from 3pt - Celtics lead the league there). And for the 4th sim in a row I had more steals (close to +2 this time) and less turnovers (-2) than the other teams. WOW ! 8) Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: CavsGM on September 27, 2005, 07:07:53 AM Great sim for the Cavs, going 5-2 following the trade for Gooden. It's good to finally have a big man that is an offensive threat, other then Lo off the bench. I hope to rise up in the standings these last two sims...
Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: CelticsGM on September 27, 2005, 07:10:08 AM The TRULY AMAZING thing is the playoff race:
The Raptors went 6-1 this sim and actually LOST half a game on the 9th seed Celtics. so this is what the race for #8 looks like currently: 5 *Detroit Pistons 39-33 -2.5 (5-0 this sim) 6 *Philadelphia 76ers 38-33 -2.0 (2-4) 7 *Cleveland Cavs 36-33 -1.0 (5-2) 8 *Orlando Magic 34-33 -0 (2-eight) 9 Boston Celtics 34-34 +0.5 (7-1) 10 Washington Wiz 30-35 +2.5 (1-5) 11 Toronto Raptors 29-35 +3.0 (6-1) expect some tight finish here with the bottom 4 playoff spots decided in the last sim #12. GO CELTICS !!! Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 27, 2005, 08:23:35 AM I lost a 1/2 game on the C's but gained 2 games on the 8th spot.
The bad thing is, the way teams are playing, I don't see .500 making the playoffs..I see 44 wins making it...meaning I'd have to go 15-3. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 27, 2005, 08:58:57 AM ah, shutup, freudian slip.
BTW, I think the playoff race this year could be the best EVER. Both conferences have some simply amazing races this year, including the race for the #2 seed out west (which is obviously overshadowed by the races for the 8th spot in both conferences). Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: MagicGM on September 27, 2005, 09:13:03 AM damn.. bullshit.. went 2-8..
the 3-1 line-up didn't work now. damn. damn damn damn. my future looks doomed... :x Dwight showed some signs of future though. 24, 14 and 5blocks not to mention fouled-out. damn. that game my team recorded 15blocks. :D oh dang... just figured out... Kidd was out for most part of the sim. whoa. I lucked out somehow. Kidd will only miss 1 game next sim. whew. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 27, 2005, 09:20:50 AM Wow... Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: SpursGM-old on September 27, 2005, 12:12:35 PM 3-2 sim...on the heels of a 2-4 sim 9. Still holding onto the 8th seed. Also not overly concerned as 9 of last 11 games played were on the road. 2-0 at home...3-6 on road with some real close losses.
Good news is that my competitors for the 8th seed have 12-15 games left and play each other as well as the top teams. I have only 9 games left and need to hope that I just stay healthy. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: ClippersGM-old on September 27, 2005, 01:18:41 PM Clippers are still struggling a bit. But as I read in the LA Times (see Articles), they will soon be back to where they belong.

Let me introduce you to what I call the Arenas effect....rather than make his teammates better he makes them worse. Just look at the records of the two teams with games Arenas played vs games he didn't: Spurs: games Arenas played 14-18 games missed - injury 4-3 games after trade 19-15 Magic: games before trade 19-12 games missed - injury 3-1 games Arenas played 12-20 Also key players in rotation seem to miss games with injuries..... :?: But on the bright side he is young and has A- defense. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: HawksGM on September 27, 2005, 04:17:24 PM Yea, I didn't like Arenas when he was a member of the Hawks, he just turned the ball over way too much and didn't produce like I thought he would.

Well, right now the Spurs and the Warriors have the same winning percentage. I have a 9 game sim, with 6 on the road. Spurs have a 4 games sim, with 3 on the road. This sim (plus the Warriors/Spurs game on day 118) will make or break my playoff chances this year. Hopefully the hot play will continue. The Kings and Suns are also within reach. One bad sim by any team, or one great sim, will greatly change 6-8 in the Western conference. Although the Kings with 9 of their remaining 12 games at home could still be a factor. But who gets the 6th seed is hard to say and actually the 7th seed may be a better matchup. In fact there could be a 3 way tie and I haven't looked at how that would play out. Title: Sim 10 Discussion Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 27, 2005, 04:58:49 PM It will be incredibly close. The Kings and the Warriors had very surprising sims after big trades. The question is if either team can maintain that high level of play.
We will find out on Wednesday :) Looking forward to it... |
