reasoning:
well, I had a few other deals on the table, but all involved other starters moving.  And with the way I've been winning, I don't want to mess with that.

So I got a bit younger and a bit more depth.

Darko is an A- defender at C, PF and SF.  That versatility will be nice.  Lo drops to a B+ defensively at PF, and my other PF (dial) was a B-.  Also got a little younger at the pg spot, which was the only position i was really old in.

Then I traded some of my picks (which hopefully are almost worthless) for a pick that while probably won't be good, should hopefully be better.

interesting deal, not sure who I like it more for.  Nets probably looking past the Boykins days and getting a young guy for when Boykings expires.  For the Celtics they get a guy in Chauncey Billups who was a great starting PG for the Nets.  Time will tell who this one favors IMO.

I am not sure that I like this for the Celts, but I'm pretty sure that they'll get better in the short term at least. They have a pretty good starting 5 now, but they're not close to the better teams out there.

I like the trade for the Nets.

Celtics did this because:

I needed a third scoring option after Pau and Lenard. Chauncey was a 19ppg PG only last year

I didn't want to keep two similar young PGs (three with Nat) and neither Watson nor Miller was starter material. #6 pick Snow has a nice future ahead but Rocky gave me more on both ends this year.

Darko I will miss. Getting 7 blocks on TD isn't too common around here. And at age 22 he's got all the time ahead of him. He was the price to pay.

The picks are a wash. Sure, if the Sixers move TD for 12 first rounders in 2012 I look pretty bad (Safe guess: they won't because they'd be the laughingstock of whole Manila next season). Otherwise I dealt pick #22 for two #29 picks. And we all know meanwhile what you get past #10 ...

Guess that's it for this year, folks. 6 deals and my starting lineup went from
Curry-Jefferson-Vlad-Van Exel-Elliott (age 22.4) to
Booth-Gasol-Lenard-Ginobili-Billups (age 28.4).

I like it

Not to forget: Al Jefferson, Nat Van Exel, Rocky Elliott, Tower and Duncan (no, not that one) are STILL here too.

And in the end this deal comes down to this:

A young backup PG + a project backup forward for a top 10 starting PG (at least till Rocky or Nat are ready).

Not too much risk here ...

oh, don't worry.  I couldn't go on a diet (I can keep myself from eating poorly, but I can't cut things out like that).

If basketball and lifting don't keep me in shape, then I don't want to keep in shape, heh.  I can't eat cardboard my whole life.

Surprised some people think I got the better end of this.  I thought I definitely gave up more talent than I got back.  Chauncey can still score 20/game and give 9 assists.  There's no way I replace that.  Amd going to a team with one of the worst starting pg rotations in the league, that's huge.

Chauncey just didn't make sense here at 10 mpg.  I even tried moving him to sg and such, couldn't get him more time.

I'm tryng to eat better, I'm starting to pack on a few pounds (191 lbs at 5'10)

I'm not fat yet, but if I keep it up, I could be. I just don't get enough exercise, but that should change with intermurals.

I'm 6'1", 195 lbs.  That's about what I was 5 years ago.

It's not proportioned quite as good as it used to be ( ;) ), but I'm still in "good" shape.  That 195 lbs used to be at 8-9% body fat.  I'm guessing that's risen a bit from my playing days, but stilll good.

I don't eat potato chips and the like, I just have a big appetite. I'll eat supper twice (one at 530-6 and again at 10 or so).

yea, you guys are probably in decent shape, except I'm willing to bet bods has some misalignments like all you IT people have, but I'm 6'3 180 w/only 6% body fat now, but it fluctuates depending on how motivated I am.

Hahaha.

I haven't been in IT long enough for that.  I played sports competitively for 20 years of my life hardcore, have only been using computers really for 5.  Give it time to catch up ;)

we Americans sure love fads though, too lazy and stupid to eat better, although i'm currently working on a presentation dealing with the macro societal/governmental structures involved in why our nutrition sucks, beyond simply saying its a lack of individual motivation/ability (all and all it's just a governmental copout from taking responsibility to restructure our corporate economy).....

sorry figured since everyone else was talking bout their schoolwork....anyway Go Jazz!

I'm a scrawny 192 at 6'5", I used to be 210-215 when I was playing ball though, blame Appendicitis and Mononucleosis for the difference. I was 195 and started lifting and eating a lot more...I lost 3 lbs to 192, go figure

6'6 and 168 lbs (76 kilograms here). Although i'm 26 all the people are saying that i'm getting taller and taller, so i think i'm still growing.

Eating only once a day for almost 10 years now (i'm just not ineterested in food, or too lazy to spend time on food, don't know wich one). Yet, i haven't been sick since elementary school.

Lifting? Never in my whole life.

Now can you all get the hell out of my trade thread ?

Go fooling around with your weight problems in the "other topics" or "who cares" forum section. I was expecting insight on the deal, not some discussion on anorexia ...

Now you, Ivan, even you "rap" my thread, damn, I give up.

During my active career I was around 195 lbs and always dreamed of my ideal "fight weight" of 210 lbs.

I'm a massive 6'1" 232 lbs now !!!

I wonder why I can still stuff a Volleyball on a regular rim ... but I know my knees don't like it too much ...
