Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 07:52:09 PM Will be a little late tonight. I'm about to begin a 2 hour drive home, and can't do the sim until I return there.
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on September 18, 2005, 10:11:09 PM I have quite a tough sim, play the Nets 3 times, the Magic, the Blazers and the Knicks. Hopefully I go 3-3, but I could even go 2-4 or 1-5
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 10:11:47 PM Draft final standings/stats are up:
http://ssba.phillyarena.net/files/draft/ the normal draft preview won't be available until I run the FBB sim tonight. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:02:14 PM Yao better be all-star MVP :)
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: HornetsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:11:31 PM man, the rooks really took it to the sophs. sophs should be embarassed.
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:14:54 PM Ok, Sim's up, and draft is up.
Draft Preview will be the typical draft preview you're used to seeing, the one with the 100 candidates. Draft Details will be the end of year college stats. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: SonicsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:16:17 PM Peja = Broken Skull?
Camby = Fractured Nose? Kundla = Bruised Cheekbone? When did I play the Nasty Boys? Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:16:28 PM Yikes. I just realized how easy of a schedule I had. My 3 hardest games were against the Bulls. No disrespect to the Bulls, but they're not title contenders.
Still, I'll take a 16 game winning streak anytime. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:17:20 PM 1-5 sim, Yao once again increases his scoring to a blistering 37.6 ppg.
He also leads the league in rebounds per game at 15.2. Nash leads the league in assists per game at 10, even. These two are gonna be big contributors next year. Yao had 57 points in a game, 1 POINT SHY of the record. Draft Preview is...? Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:18:58 PM Antonio Lenard is a legit #2 option (at worst). Scored 20 or more points in every game this sim.
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:29:18 PM Can someone explain to me how 5'5" 130 lb Earl Boykins gets 10 rebounds to get a triple double? Huh?
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: HornetsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:31:53 PM haha, he would be fun to watch in the sim.
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:33:17 PM Damn, the spurs go 2-4 and their draft pick goes from 11th overall to 12th overall.
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:34:38 PM Guess team record must count for something, Yao is getting no Weekly/Monthly player awards.
He's gonna get something like 38.5/15.5 and not win MVP. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: JazzGM-old on September 18, 2005, 11:37:26 PM 3-3 without kirilenko. Kaman performed as I expected. nothing too big to note though.
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: Anonymous on September 18, 2005, 11:39:47 PM Great Sim for me in two ways:
1. Went 5-1 and outscored teams by 12.2 points per game in my wins. Granted, the teams that I beat were not the greatest - split with Miami, blew out the Bulls & beat the Magic & Bucks as well, but still encouraging. We also won 3 of 4 at home. Trevor Wells averaged 29.5ppg on 50.4% from the field and 45.4% from three. He also averaged 5.2rpg, 2.3apg & 2.0spg - including a 40 point, 7 rebound, 7 steal outburst versus the Bulls. Everyone else was fairly inconsistent, although Corey Hoiberg severely outplayed Jamal Crawford in the battle of traded players against the Bulls. We have now won 7 of our last 9. Astonishingly, we are 9th in the East, only 2.5 games out of the 8th spot 2. The Bulls lost all 6 games that they played and are now below .500 and in the 8th spot in the East. That pick (and the trade as a whole) is looking a whole lot better. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2005, 11:43:19 PM as expected, maybe could win one more if i didnt forget to change pace, without Zach no more offensive sickness were we usually win by 20 or lose by 20, but it went as i expected, and didnt notice Webber was a C,but that's changed also now,too many trades today, so lots of confusion with DC, but it's going as expected
Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:44:13 PM Hm...offense actually struggled a bit. 101.5 ppg, 44% shooting, 36% 3pt. Not exactly struggled, but definitely less than I've become accustomed to this year.
Defense picked it up. 88.3 ppg, 39% shooting, 34% 3pt. Won rebounding by +1, turnovers by +1.5. Blocks by +4. Emeka held opposing starting Pf's to 33% shooting. Lol. And someone told me I shouldn't put him there on the offensively superior pf's  He also scored 23 ppg and pulled down 16 rpg, while blocking 3 shots. Shot 43% (1.19 pps, his best of the season), and was able to stay on the court 37 minutes. Pettit struggled a bit. 24.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 4 apg, 1.6 spg, 44.3% shooting, 39% 3pt. only 1.11 pps for a guy averaging 1.33 before this sim. Boyking was Boykins. 20.4 ppg, 9.4 apg, 6.4 rpg (with the aforementioned triple double). only 0.7 topg. that would be a 13.4/1 assist to turnover ratio for those not good at math. Dilbert with 9.5, 9.5 and 4.6 blocks. Battier with more than 2x as many steals as turnovers. only 4 games next sim, 3 at home, but none easy. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: HornetsGM on September 18, 2005, 11:44:48 PM Well, I'm glad I got some wins under my belt in this sim, because my next sim is pretty tough:
61 Hornets @ Nets 62 No Game 63 Hornets @ Wizards 64 Hornets @ Supersonics 65 Hornets @ Timberwolves 66 No Game 67 Hornets @ Mavericks 68 No Game 69 Hornets @ Nuggets 70 No Game Congrats to Shawn Marion and Lamar Odom in making the all-star team. Title: sfsdfsdf Post by: HeatGM on September 19, 2005, 12:02:53 AM wow...what a great sim... i can see the potential of my team... im not trying to win yet im winning...went 5-2.....although it was a light schedule....not against a tough opponent... i improve my defense since the gasol for curry and radman trade... i now sits 5 spot from the bottom on points opponents scored per game...
wat impresses me this sim is eddy curry and don long: heat 126 portland 104- q rich scoring 39 points and eddy went 23 points 10 rebs and 4 blocks knicks 123, heat 106- eddy curry went 30 points 10 rebounds and 2 blocks , ricardo went 8 points in 8 minutes heat 84, mavs 81- don long went 14 points 10 rebounds 2 blocks in 20 minutes. heat 111, knicks 84- eddy curry went 34 points 10 rebounds heat 93, bucks 64- don long 25 points 10 rebounds 2 blocks heat 96, spurs 90- don long 14 points 10 boards lakers 102, heat 90- eddy curry 32 points 12 rebounds 4 blocks.... eddy curry and vlad was worth pau gasol... celtics went 4-2 with pau in the line up ...so i guess everything worked out right with our trades :P Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: CelticsGM on September 19, 2005, 03:40:34 AM Was this a successful sim for the Celtics? I'm torn on this because ...
3-2 sounds good but I played the Hawks, Raptors (2x) and Pistons (2x) and could have gone 5-0 as well. Why? Well, don't want to sound too cocky but after beating the Raptors for the first time in ages I immediately lost to the Pistons because Ginobili went down with the injury bug. Missed the next game as well (loss to Raptors - their lone W this sim) before returning to help me easily beat the Pistons. I had no idea HOW important Gino is for me, I'm 0-5 without him now. Otherwise it was business as usual, Lenard leading the scoring ways and Gasol returning to be close to a 20/9 guy again. New addition Booth was exactly as unspectacular as he was with the Jazz, will take me some time to see his complete impact on my team. And WITH Ginobili even the defense is great ... Furthermore, Celtics finally left the standings cellar and climbed some spots to just 4th worst team. In the loss column, i'm just one game behind the East #6 seed, so even the playoff hopes remain intact. 8) Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: MagicGM on September 19, 2005, 04:50:21 AM went 3-1 with Arenas down..
liston had a great sim, not to mention Strckland :D Beat Ray's new team by 17, I believe. Interesting how next sim goes with arenas and kidd running the show. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on September 19, 2005, 06:26:03 AM 5-2 without Brad Miller the whole sim. Mcgrady is just ridicilous. 4 games with 40+ . 3rd scorer in the league.
With Miller i might as well went 7-0. Damn, i might give this team one more shot. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: PacersGM on September 19, 2005, 06:32:15 AM 2-2 this time another 3 games away...
great job by the hawks : i have been expecting this for a while since in every game they gave me a fight... mainreason for this loss is that artest only played 12 mins second loss against the mavs: only two points i can live with that the new frontcourt is doing a wonderful job at the boards giving me now hope that i can challenge now the clippers, hornets and nets who are superior in this cat. Cato had another great sim this time avg. of 10/12 and shooting 48% and 90% from FTs  destroyed the sixers by 30 with outscoring them in the last quarter after both TD and Tanner fouled out. congrats to Melo and JO for making the ALLstar Team. Title: Sim 6 Preview/Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on September 19, 2005, 06:36:39 AM Hehe, Commish must be out of his mind. Emeka didn't make the All Star Team. :)

Now wait a second. he played 41 minutes at pf against tim duncan, and collected 33 pts and 10 rebounds, shooting 54%. He played 39 minutes against Howard. 24 pts, 11 rebounds, 50% shooting. He "struggled" against Amare with 16/11/5 blocks. Against Boozer he played 44 minutes and had 28 pts, 21 rebounds on 52% shooting. On his rematch with Amare he played him back to back. 41 minutes one night and 39 the other. 26/24 and 22/17. You said he'd struggle with foul trouble. in 2 sims (16 games) he's really only had his minutes limited twice. You can't just pick out 2 bad games and try to take a snapshot of that. His points are up. His rebounds are up. His fg% is up. His minutes are up. And he held opposing PF's this past sim to 33% shooting (a group that included Randolph, Boozer, and Amare twice). And, most importantly, his team's 16-0 when he's played at pf. Well, that was my fault. 2 sims before the all-star game I moved him to PF, where the best player in the game is currently playing (Tim Duncan). right idea but wrong answer. Emeka was still listed as C so he had a matchup against Yao and JO and lost. For the Allstar Break only the current position listed in the roster is used not the position he played. f.ex.: Melo played SG but was an ALLstar SF JO played PF but was listed at C etc.... Normally Emeka would have made the Allstar since the drop after Yao at C in the east is so big that he is automatic the second best but with JO this year listed as C he had a challenge for the first time ever. I am thinking about some options now. I might consider trading him. We will see. Miles is averaging 14.6ppg, 5.9apg & shooting 46.1% from the field in 31.6mpg. Damn, Miles should have been a lock there. I believe the problem lies in the FBB coding. The program vastly overvalues steals, blocks and turnovers. I noticed that with the PotG awards: I'ver seen it countless time that a guy with much less pts, reb and ass - even in combination of these - can win the award if he gets like 2 stl, 2 blk and no TOs. So the only reason Perry (and Dench over Miles) got in this game would be TO/Ass ratio. In retrospect I'm glad Elliott wasn't part of this debacle. Can't be too godd for the morale of these young guys.
