Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2005, 03:01:06 PM Blazers trade
Zach Randolph Lakers trade Stephen Jackson Brent Mercer Nene Hilario Rasual Butler Lakers 1st 2010 Blazers agree (It had to be done) Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: LakersGM-old on September 18, 2005, 03:19:22 PM agree
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: CelticsGM on September 18, 2005, 03:35:39 PM My goodness, what a deal for the Blazers.
sure they lost a big-time scorer in Zach (who thinks defense is something the armed forces do not basketball players) but got a nice scorer back in Jackson who's available on both ends of the floor PLUS the former #2 (CPU) pick in long and skinny center Mercer (who can't continue to decline any further) PLUS a nice backup in Rasual PLUS a possible top5 pick. Great job ! Now that Mercer story about being CPU pick is true, but no way he would have dropped further than 5-6 in that draft with human selection. AND he gets roughly the same stats like Chris Bosh, who everyone just waits for to finally break out ... Blazers 1 - Lakers 0 8) Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: HornetsGM on September 18, 2005, 03:46:09 PM The Lakers should improve a lot after this trade. They can move Zach to SF, giving them a very strong starting 5.

Now if that works, I see them tie up the score Blazers 1 - Lakers 1 8) Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 03:59:14 PM Well, it all hinges on what the draft looks like this year. If the Blazers can get a comparable player with that pick, they win. If not, Lakers win.
But the Lakers have needed someone to put the ball in the hoop for a long time. Now they have it. Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: BullsGM-old on September 18, 2005, 04:23:40 PM I agree with Nets and Hornets, this isn't a steal for the Blazers by any means. Zach is an elite player now, although he doesn't block well, he averages 1.7 spg to go along with his 26/12/4. Jackson is a good player but the other 3 are scrubs. Mercer is a bust, he's averaging 8/8 but on 36%. Like Nets said, if the Blazers can get a great player via the draft then he wins it, if not the Lakers do.
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: PacersGM on September 18, 2005, 04:46:04 PM the lakers did win big....
the get a scorer who should play very well next to haywood and if bosh can play some SF the pick will be a late lotto... also i can´t see how jackson who is the same ballplayer like zach will improve them ... mercer is a joke . Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2005, 05:52:05 PM Quote the get a scorer who should play very well next to haywood and if bosh can play some SF the pick will be a late lotto... Late lotto? The Lakers have as much shot of getting out of the top 10 this draft as I have of dating Evan Langoria. Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2005, 05:59:44 PM I agree too, it was a risk i had to take. It's also part of why i traded fox, now i have loads of money, 2 possible TOP 5 picks, or 1 TOP 5 and one TOP 15 or TOP 10, Zach sux defensively altough offensively he's an animal, jackson is fine substitute for Fox,other's were fillers, now i have to see if my risk was worth or not, and see which draft order by 2 picks will have, altough i wanted Bosh to be included in deal instead of those fillers, but i wouldn't be able to get a pick then or jackson either,so we'll see if risk was worth or not.
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: CavsGM on September 18, 2005, 06:01:02 PM I think the Lakers got a steal here. Can't believe Portland went with this trade, when I had an offer on the table that, in my eyes, is a hell of a lot better then this deal.

He had a horrible TC last year losing all of his B's and B-'s. Keep in mind, Jackson was putting up those big numbers on a BAD TEAM. Butler's nothing special in my opinion.
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: SixersGM on September 18, 2005, 09:05:05 PM Could have gotten a better deal.
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2005, 09:26:52 PM Well, i was waiting for few days, and this deal suits my plans best, if somebody sent me better deal i would take it, this deal is fine for me, of course i could get more probably, but now i have actually what i want, and offseason will tell if my plan and my risk was worth or not, if not, i won't cry, if it works out, then watch out for Blazers next year
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2005, 09:29:13 PM Anyway dealing Fox and Zach was just a plan i have and a big risk which we'll see what happens....if plan falls trough, at least those 2 GM's will be happy :)
Title: sdfsdfsdf Post by: HeatGM on September 18, 2005, 10:15:48 PM this was a steal for the lakers....lakers would be improving a lot...big time... the lakers pick would lost its value coz the lakers will be improving A LOT... could have get a better deal out of zach....
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: BlazersGM on September 19, 2005, 12:14:52 AM they didnt improve this sim much, let's see, i'll quit talking about this now hehe :)
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: BlazersGM on September 19, 2005, 12:16:02 AM if lakers make close to play-offs i'll give telfair for free ;)
Title: Blazers / Lakers Post by: BlazersGM on September 19, 2005, 12:20:14 AM they went 3-5 if i'm not wrong (or 3-6) and they're now 2nd worst in league :)
