Another road-heavy sim for the Celtics is waiting, and some tough opponents too.

Starting of with entertaining the Nuggets (who we beat by 28 on the road recently), then we go west to the Jazz and Wolves, return home for a date with the #1 team Nets, and close the sim away at the Hornets and Pistons.

Hope NOT to go 0-6 (wadda ya expect from team #29) and build on my one-game winning streak (season high !). 1-5 is realistic, 2-4 great !!!

Lineup changes were made to improve the most glaring deficiency: scoring. Lenard gets a chance to show his skills starting at SF, Vlad moves to PF and we trap and press even more. Hope the defense is still there and some of my guys finally rediscover their shooting touch ...

Well, I have 8 games and Pavel is out for the 1st two... Unfortunately those two games are against the Cavs and the Pistons; both ahead of me in the Division standings. I am counting those two as losses already (they are away games as well.)

I am thinking 3-5 realistically, although I could see 4-4.

I play only 4 games, hoping to succeed better than last sim. First I go 3-5 with afsat pace, then 0-8. Yao loves i so the rest of the team should try to keep up.

You realize this is a team sport, right?

You always know that KingsGM is frustrated when his only comment before a sim is totally unrelated to the games.


Well I'm doomed guys. It's over. All my hope is gone, as Starbury is out another 4 days. Crap. Shit. Why me, why always me,why, why ?

What, I only play the Reptiles, who are currently on a 9-game losing streak, during those 4 days? doesn't matter, I'm sure my backup towel-kid will go down soon and kill all hopes I got ...

Realistically, I'm lost after Starbury returns, too. Playing @ Atlanta and vs. Blazers back-2-back. Man, my old guys are not made for such ridiculous schedules.  How can Brad defend a kid like Zach when he has to carry his bag through half the country the night before?

And later on, Pacers - they ALWAYS kill me - Lakers, Warriors, Pistons. Have you ever heard of a more horrendous scheduke? What was FBB thinking, that I'm the Globetrotters? People, realize, I might go just  6-1. Or even worse. What if i lose a game ? Or win just 6 ?

 
Well, I might as well break my team apart and sell the pieces for expirings. This really is my last chance for a LOOONG time. But I doubt. I'm doomed (oh, I mentioned that before ?)

A 5-4 recoprd would be nice, and allow the Warriors to start inching up to .500 ball.  Just have to stay in playoff striking distance until Hinrich comes back.

It could happen this sim....8 games; 5 on the road.  Some tough teams: Clips, Mavs, Grizzlies & Sixers.

I just have to keep rubbing it in while I can...if my record goes south then I know you will be back to gloating on how good the pick will be.   :wink:

with the way things are looking, clippers will be the leader in career wins after this year.

lost to the Sonics at home by 5, @ the hornets by 2, then got smacked on the road vs. the wolves.

I've now played 19 of 26 games on the road.  it'll be nice to play these next 4 straight at home (before heading out for 4 more straight on the road).

The clippers are amazing.

No kidding....although they lost both games to the Nets.

Wow...terrible sim.

Scored the ball.  Boykins had 23.5/10.8 with only 1.6 to's.  52% from 3 pt.

Pettit with a down sim...25.5, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals, 44%, 41% 3pt.

Okafor's struggling a bit.  16 pts, 13 rebounds, 2.2 steals, 2.7 blocks.  couldn't shoot for sh*t.

Dalembert was great in the 3 games he returned for.  16 pts, 11 boards, 4.3 blocks.

Trenton Lo filled in for dalembert nicely.  11 pts, 14 rebounds, 2 blocks one game.  14/8/1 another.  And 14/12/2 the last.

But man...defensively.  Opponents shot 44.4% from the field.  That's unheard of against this team.

I think it's time to slow down the pace to fast.

Ugh, a poor sim. Still have a very good record, but the 4-5 hurts. What I need is a big man that can score. My trio of Tsakalidis, Holton and Allen do well rebounding and blocking shots, but some scoring in that area would help.

Pretty good sim, the fast pace is starting to work.

Yao's season so far is truely amazing.

36.8 ppg (1st in league)

15 rpg (1st in league)

3.1 bpg (5th in league)

52.5% FG (3rd in league)

Smacked the Kings around, as he laughed at. Perhaps you'd like to use your time more wisey and get an answer for Yao there KingsGM? 48 pts, 18rebs, asts, 4blcks.

And then, in the highlight of my year, SMOKED the Sixers holding Duncan to 19 pts on 6-25 shootin while Yao went off for 41 and 15. Baron also scored career high 38 pts.

Ducan put up 31 and 16 in the rematch, but shot on 11-31. However, the Sixers got to me bad. Yao had 32/18/8

Then I go smoked by the Grizz.

I currently have the 4th and 11th picks in the draft.

And Baron hould have been traded by this sim but I got distracted...so he'll be traded now.

Louisetti once again with awesome start. I can't belive what difference the bench make. With Marbury out, he went for 22pts, 5st, 5as in his only start. I don't understand he's nowhere to be found once he's coming off the bench.

4-4 with some nice wins. Not a very good sim, but better than my last...

Went 4-4...still holding in there in a very even western conference.  

Beat the Clips, Nuggets & Hawks at home.  Also beat the Mavs in Dallas but lost to Sixers, Grizzlies, Bucks & Hawks on road.

Thomas had rebounding games of 19, 20, 20 & 25...but also had a couple games with only 8.

Mihm (27/12  60% FG) played Duncan (27/13  45% FG) even in a 3 point loss in Philly.

My perimeter players seemed to either all be hot or all be cold from the field at the same time.  Might have to switch back to a balanced offense....especially with SAR joining the team after the next sim.

2-3, a decent sim. Trenton Dench impressed again and I'm starting to think he's a very capable starter.  I split with the Spurs (expected) and loss to the Kings and Pacers (also expected).  What I didn't expect was to beat the Pistons.  I was surprised by that one and Trenton Dench led the way with 25pts 7asts and 5stls.  I really like this kid.

Wow, i am really on a roll. Without Biedrens, my starting center, i beat the clippers, hornets, and jazz who were missing kirilenko. This basically means that if i keep williams as my 3rd option instead of biedrens like i did for this sim i should do even better. yay!

Dench again has impressed me.  His averages for this sim are as follows:

PPG: 14.4
APG: 6.2
RPG: 4.2
SPG: 4.6
TOPG: 2.8

His numbers for the last 2 sims which he has been starting are:

PPG: 16.2
APG: 5.6
RPG: 5.2
SPG: 3.7
TOPG: 2.67

His A/TO is worser than I want but you get some bad with the good.  He is averaging 3.7 steals as a starter which would be best for league leader.  He is scoring at 16ppg which is also impressive alongside Jameer, JDN and Ivan he might be a good compliment.

2-2 this sim.  Really hard sim coming up too.

There are about 10 teams in the East within 4 losses of each other.

You-know-who might make it better ;)

I think my attempt to trade for Baron has been one of the worst kept secrets of the last 2-3 seasons :D

first sim i tried to focus on def and what a great result.
... cavs,hornets,kings and bulls and of course hawks

blow out the hornets at home by 20 and had a record game against the kings at their homecourt holding them to 65 points. The fans are still upset there  :wink:
Of course the offense suffered a little bit but i am still scoring around 100 pts with a normal pace   :D
the bulls will be pretty happy that we want have any game left..
i swept them already.
against some really great off teams i was able to hold them under 40% from the field.
Like the nets i played most of my games at the road so some home games will be welcomed.
Cato is getting better and better...

went 3-3 with Kidd out. but Ray had some 10 and 12 assists performance, IIRC.

My first winning sim of the season, 5-4.  Moving Posey to SG seems to have sparked the team a bit.  

It's a long cry from the days of Boykins, Carter, and Camby, but I'm absolutely stunned that this team is only one game back of 4th place in the playoff standings.   :shock:

On a good note, Gadzuric is giving me more than Camby ever did, which is saying something.  Camby had the D and rebounding, but didn't provide the offense that Gadz does.  Cronin also did a nice job starting at Posey's old position.

In the end I went 2-4 and still, complete satisfaction must feel different.

After getting kicked by the Nuggets (could almost smell that I'm in for a loss after beating them by 28 last sim - but not at the hands of Collier going for 27/10 vs. Vlad) and the Jazz, KG did go for 44 on 97% shooting (thanx, Radman) and the Nets again won a close one (tied after 3rd, Gino with career high 15 boards against Petitt). So much for the bad.

Now to some good news. Road wins over the Hornets (at full strength) and Pistons (sans Tinselman) opened an unexpected win streak. With a fairly easy schedule until the midseason point I hope to build on that.

Getting his first start, SF Lenard went off for 22ppg on 50% shooting (against competition like Kirilenko, Battier, Odom and Dunleavy) finally proving his worth. Vlad couldn't defend a mouse on PF but responded with a healthy 15/10 on offense.
Fine team passing (25apg, 4 more that season avg., including all time franchise high 35 vs. Hornets) led to a higher shooting % and about even rebounding and made up for the defensive inadequacies (giving up 101ppg) of this higher-scoring team (100ppg after season avg 88ppg).


Things are chanching for the better here, and with the Celtics just 6 games in the loss column behind the #5 seed a playoff spot is still not out of the equation here ...

Gonna try Emeka back at PF.

He's been at C since midway through 2006 because I thought getting him closer to the basket will lead to more easy opportunities.  but I want to see if putting him on generally smaller PF's doesn't help, since size is an issue in the post.

And I'm gonna try a very fast pace, mabe depending on if I get a trade through or not.

James is going to be a welcome addition.

Went 3-1 this sim to nudge me over .500

2 wins over the Sonics, 1 over the trailblazers and a tough loss to the Heat. We should have went 4-0 but I'll take 3-1

Hunter Summitt is looking good as 4th offensive option getting 12ppg, Finley still has it and Mike Bibby gets better every sim!

Well....I have the shortest starting froncourt in the East  :? . It was even shorter until the last couple sims because I was starting Eric Fleisher (6'9", 238) over Nazr.

yea you proved my pont also. i am counting maybe 2 C who are good enough to score on emeka but about 7 pf who can.
Also the def is at the Pf position way better than at the C very generaly all are at A-

Defense is about even at both positions.

As for the opposition, Emeka's the reigning DPOY.  bring it.

He can't touch Yao.

And he did a fine job defensively on Yao last year.  Yao just held him to zilch offensively.

Emeka was injured this year for both of our games.  Yao torched Lo, but I won both games.

Yao was still putting up 30/15 against Emeka.

last year Yao put up 25.7 pts, 11.5 rebounds on 38.7% shooting in 4 games against the nets.   Not bad defense against a guy who averaged 31 pts, 13 rebounds on 51% shooting for the season.

Dude, I have stats on EVERYTHING.

It's part of how I knew to target Boykins.  Last year, while Boykins was a B defender, opposing starting PG's shot a respectable 44% against him, but only scored 12 points per 35 minutes and barely over 2 assists per turnover.

Well, you did have all your jokers. So by playing the 50:50 from the 4 possible answers "efficiency", "php", "sql", "powerful trio" probably just "sql" and "powerful trio" would have remained.

And you know that it's not "powerful trio".

So SQL is the correct answer. It's a programmers language used to query databases. And we use it to query why Gasol is better than Curry (well, not that you even need a PC for that ...)
