Hawks select Mathew Marion.

I really wanted Wells but the Knicks scooped him up.  Now I have to revise my FA strategy.  Marion is a project, if that potential doesn't hold true I'm in some trouble.  I obviously didn't take the BPA but I think I filled a very glaring need but having someone who can at least play the SG position

I think in your situation, you should take the best player available. Of course, I'm having a similar dilemma of my own now, on who should I take with the 9th pick.

Actually, I think Marion was very close to BPA.
In my ranks, Newton is the only player better then Marion...

Boy Hawks, for your sake I really hope that potential is close to true.  He's very much a boom or bust prospect.  He could end up being a C B+ B+ A- C- at sg, which would be such a matchup nightmare.  He could also end up being  a bust.   very much like Ivan Strong in that regard.

Actually, he is pretty close to what Iggy is now...
This TC we shall find out.  An outside and defensive bump in TC would make him a real serious player...

And I don't consider Iggy near a #4 pick.  That's my point.

With the Hawks roster, I think this is the best pick they could have made....

Could have gone with Abdur-Rahim as well.

I think he's saying the Hawks could have gone with him at #4.

Yeah I got that, what I wrote made sense to me at the time.

you probably could have drafted NAR and traded for Marion and gotten something like a 2nd round pick as well.

Should be interesting to see how this goes...
Marion easily has the ability to be very similar to Trent Kundla of the Sonics.

Should be interesting...  personally, I am not that high on Nick...

The way I see it, this pick ends up being worth it only if Marion improves a big amount over the next couple of training camps. Otherwise, he can be considered a bust. The potential is promising, but right now he is nothing special.
