I've thought about it, but I don't think it would affect the schedule.  I don't want to move the date up, then potentially have people not ready for events.

It would just mean we wouldn't have to wait as long for the finals results.  But the draft would start at the same day.

For example, what if the clippers are gone until Tuesday.  If we move up the finals, then move up the decision making timetable for the fa extensions, he could miss out on signing his free agents because we changed the dates.  That's just wrong.

What I'm thinking of doing next year, though, is doing playoff rounds every day.  Since after the first round it's only 8 out of 29 teams, it drags on a bit, and getting full participation isn't hard.

I say you sim sooner, it's only the sooner we get to see the draft order.

depends

if we get all the fa extension decisions in, i'll go ahead and do the draft order.

but if we don't all of them in, it's waiting until the date it says on the calendar.

kingsgm, if you don't mind sending in your dc, we could go ahead and sim.

ah yes, well then it will give me a chance to look at some potential FA targets and how they perform in the playoffs

Nets; I would like to run the sim tommorow. I was working all day long and really haven't caught time to analize Jazz properly. I'll have some changes in my DC probably and i'll let you know as soon as possible.

I'm pretty confident about this WCF. Mcgrady is going crazy every time against the Jazz. I don't know the real reason, maybe cause Hughes is perhaps too small to guard him but Jazz are great defensive team. In a 4 game vs the Jazz Tmac went for 32, 25, 32 and 52. That's alot points. I think he can do even better in the playoffs.

And Gooden is pretty much able to held Kirilenko in check.
20pts, 8rebs
15pts, 7rebs, 5asists
16pts, 8rebs
20pts, 4asists and 5 boards

Not a great numbers for Kiri. Series tied at 2-2.

But the Jazz have some kind of a secret weapon, a switch i would call it, comes playoff time, so we'll see...

Draft order and the processing of extension decisions have to be done at the same time? Because once the playoffs are over, it would be nice if we could see the draft order but still wait on the extensions until the due date. If that's possible at all, I'm just asking.

If there's anyone who deserves Keogan, it's Hawks.

Hopefully this time he doesn't pass up the stud sg ;)

Keogan mgiht even be a better scorer than Pettit.

Hey, I think I deserve Keogan more. Mediocrity is more unbearable than being in last place... :)
But if I do end up with just #2, I think Manning is going to be awesome. Hey, he could have A scoring after TC, maybe. That would be incredible. Hopefully, the lowest pick I get is the 3rd. Anything lower then that would be crazy...

you may be right, but i wouldn't want to get a reputation as the clippers of the ssba....although the real life hawks are worse than the clippers so I guess the hawks might just be that hopeless.

i think i deserve Keogan, After Tanner ended up not being what we all thought he would be, I think that I deserve a true #1 pick, but then again maybe the ATL is just unluck for #1's

Man, if that potential on manning is wrong, watch out.  He's already another Hoffa offensively

Congratulations to the Jazz, who are attempting to become the first repeat champions in SSBA history (including the jem league, I believe).

Alright, what I did and why.

It's great to have flexibility.

To have an all-league defender at pf and c, I got an option of who I wanted to defend Howard.  Since Woods was the weaker defender, I was able to slide Emeka to C to exploit that advantage, and still had a  stud defender to put on Howard.

In regards to that matchup:
Emeka: 20.2 ppg, 14.1 rpg, 5 bpg, 2.3 apg, 47% shooting
Woods: 9.3 ppg, 10.6 rpg, 1.3 bpg, 35% shooting
Howard: 13.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 34.4% shooting

I'd say that move worked out well.  Excellent job by Sammy on Howard.

Then, since Magic played Ray Ray at the SF position last round, I slid Pettit over to SF.  I wanted someone who could take advantage of Ray's C+ defense.  Since Pettit is also an A defender, I was able to slide him over, exploit his weakest defender, and still have a very good defender on Ray.

Pettit: 29.8 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.7 apg, 56.4% shooting, 51.6% 3pt, 92% ft
Allen: 22.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 3 apg, 46% shooting, 41.9% 3pt (Pettit made 3 more 3's for the series), 91% ft

Mobley: 7.6 ppg, 38% shooting
Battier: 7.7 ppg, 37% shooting

Now, the pg matchup.  Billups put up 19.7 ppg, 8 apg, 5.2 rpg, 44% shooting and 50% 3pt, and, surprisingly, did a fairly good job on Kidd (15.8 ppg, 8.5 apg, 5.3 rpg, 39.3% shooting, 31% 3pt).

Lo was very good off the bench again, with 7.8 rpg and 2.5 bpg.  Blocked 13.6 shots per game as a team.  Won rebounding by +3.  Scored 104.1 ppg to the Magic 93.5.  Shot 46% to their 37%.  Shot 50% from 3 to 37.5%.  Did lose TO's, again.

Can't wait for the Jazz.  Went 1-1 against them in the regular season and struggled offensively.  Okafor had his way, but was really the only one with success.

Talk about a collapse.

The Kings were up 4 with a quarter to go in game 7 on their home court, and lost.

very tough series between me and the Kings as I knew it would be. I had strong defense off my bench with Curran and Eschmeyer which I was proud of. I couldn't really make any analysis on why I won. I didn't really know what to expect with this series, my only hope was that the Kings would overanalyze me and possibly mess up their own chemistry in the process...not sure that this was a factor.

Two very unconventional seasons for me so far, starting out with losing records, almost blowing up my team...somehow pulling it together at the right time. Congrats to the Kings for such a great year they had, pulled together the right mix of players at the right time...I give them mad props. As for the Nets, I would say I'm the underdog, but it might be even being that I'm the defending champ. His team is the exact model of what I'd want with a team and so we're very similar other than he has standout scoring with pettit while mine is spread out a little more. Good luck to the Nets.

One last thing...how are we going to work out DC's for the series?

Congrats go out to the Nets, and the Jazz,

Very excited to see how these finals will play out, the nets with their defensive mind set going up against another team that is defensive in their own right. Petit against Hughes,Booth against Sammy D and Emeka, and the most interesting matchup, AK47 against Battier.(If these are the matchups that each team goes with)

Cant wait until Monday now!

There it goes. Started with 2-0 lead and Gooden went down for 2 games. Lost both of them. Should have won this series definitely IMO. Fuck!

  :bash:

Mcgrady had a very dissapointing series. Just lousy effort by his side. Can't see the reason for that. Marbury was awesome: 18/6, 22/8, 22/6, 21/6, 17/10/6 and 16/8/9. But Daniels had a strong series also.

Congrats to the Jazz.

If the Jazz pull off the upset and beat the Nets, then we might be talking dynasty.  AK47 and company just seem to step it up come playoff time, there must be a playoff play attribute or something.

Post by: HawksGM on August 21, 2005, 12:33:23 PM
My finals prediction is Jazz in 7.  I think it will be a great series.  AK47 and Hughes will lead the Jazz to the title.  Battier and Petit are very good defenders but a combo of Hughes and Kirilenko will prove to be too much on the perimeter.  Schabinger will have to play well off the bench and Booth will have to keep Sammy off the boards for this to be a Jazz victory.  If Okafor is matched up with Murphy that's a huge mismatch in the Nets favor.  This should be a great one, but I won't pick against the defending champs.

Hey, I just realized, the Jazz and I are the 2 teams with the most playoff wins, and 2 of the 3 top playoff %

which is kinda sad, since this is my first time out of the 2nd round.

the win ratings displayed are for this year only.  After the season has finished it will turn to the cumulative win ratings.

Right now you're ratings is regular season wins + playoff rounds won.

For example, I won 51 games.  Then won 3 playoff rounds.  My win rating is 81 (51 + (3x10))
