Hawks accept, I get expirings and a future first for a decent center.  Plus I sent him out west, I didn't want to send him to some of the EC teams who were interested.  I also cut Thor Majerle to make this work but I will post in the cuts thread.

Nothing to be ashamed about for getting a guy like Okur (though I have the feeling the Spurs are in for a surprise there as some of Mehmet's ratings warrant a second look).

But the 5-year plan has to get a 3-yr plan soon to make that deal NOT look bad soon ...

Celtics - Spurs did NOT get Okur.  We got Etan Thomas...a A def, B+ reb which addresses a big weakness - interior defense and rebounding.  Also he has a B- inside rating.

I have 3 scorers at the pg, sg & sf positions.  Rasho was having trouble holding down the inside completely by himself.   Hobson is a respectable defender and inside scorer but horrible rebounder.  Mikan is a 10+ rebounder per game as a starter but has very limited offensive skills and marginal defensive abilities (but still A potential if he ever utilizes it).

So far through 2 trades the Spurs have not dealt any of their core and in return received two A defenders with respectable skills in two additional categories.
