Jamal Del Negro Steven Hunter Eduardo Najera Atlanta trades: Dan Gadzuric Predrag Drobnjak Atlanta 2010 2nd rounder Title: Denver/Atlanta Trade Post by: HawksGM on August 03, 2005, 06:15:12 PM agreed
-JDN is a great prospect, he could be one of the better SF's in the game with a good TC...Gadz made me not like him because he shot 35% from the field. I tried not making him an option and his percentages were still like that, so offensively it helps losing Gadz, but defensively it's a huge blow, one of the best defenders in the game. Also it saves me a ton of money in the short future because of Gadz FA status. Losing 12 in a row is the cause for this, other deals will be to come... Title: Denver/Atlanta Trade Post by: CavsGM on August 03, 2005, 07:39:12 PM Nuggets get a big frontcourt boost with Gads. He is a defensive beast, a great addition.
Title: Denver/Atlanta Trade Post by: SonicsGM on August 03, 2005, 07:50:52 PM How many teams has JDN been on so far?
Title: Denver/Atlanta Trade Post by: NetsGM on August 03, 2005, 07:57:20 PM Gadz is an absolute defensive beast. He should finish the Nuggets off very, very well.
And JDN could be a top prospect, if his potential is even close to true. Would like for that defense to improve, though. I'm his 3rd, I think he's very similar to Deng actually, with the time he'll produce soon Title: Denver/Atlanta Trade Post by: OldNuggetsGM on August 03, 2005, 08:46:21 PM This now shores up my biggest weakness. The Drobber is better than any of the backups I had up front, and adding Gadzuric with Camby is a nice pairing for a starting frontcourt.
I valued JDN pretty highly, but I gave him lots of time this year so far, and he hasn't produced the numbers that his ratings suggested he would. It was still tough to give up on him, but because of my weakness up front, and the fact that I have Cronin to immediately fill in for Del Negro, this was something I couldn't pass up. I definitely traded future value for present value, so we'll see how this works out. Title: Denver/Atlanta Trade Post by: HawksGM on August 03, 2005, 11:26:03 PM Gadz is without question a top defensive PF in the game, but his percentages may come back to haunt you to. JDN hasn't produced yet but with a year of maturity I think he's primed to put up 16-18 a game.

JDN hasn't produced yet but with a year of maturity I think he's primed to put up 16-18 a game. Wow, you expect a lot from him fror sure. His career highs are 19 points 8 rebs, and that included some starting sims last year too. Even Deng has trouble reaching 15ppg consistently and he's a main focus guy for some time now ... He might get there but I doubt it will be as early as next season ! :? |
