Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 01:05:43 PM This is goin to be ugly for me, Pierce and Griffin are out for 4 more days, but luckily I only have 3 games over that period of time (Raptors, Hornets, Sixers)
Hopefully I can go 2-3, or ideally steal one from the Sixers and go 3-2 Title: Re: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: HornetsGM on July 28, 2005, 01:09:13 PM Quote from: BullsGM This is goin to be ugly for me, Pierce and Griffin are out for 4 more days, but luckily I only have 3 games over that period of time (Raptors, Hornets, Sixers) Hopefully I can go 2-3, or ideally steal one from the Sixers and go 3-2 I really want to avenge my 2 1 point losses to you. I don't care if your best players are out, I like to win cheap. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 01:12:38 PM Facing Grizzlies, Bucks, Pistons, Raptors, Warriors and Wolves.
Tough games all and real test for my team. Hoping for 4 - 2 or 5 - 1. It's time to get up in standings. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: WolvesGM on July 28, 2005, 01:18:16 PM My first sim, i play 8 games and 7 of da teams are over .500 >.< Hope i do well.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: CavsGM on July 28, 2005, 01:20:45 PM This sim is going to be ugly. 7 games, 4 of them going against Nets, Raptors, Mavs, and Clippers. The other three are Knicks, Suns, and Wizards. I'll be very happy if I can beat any one of those top 4. And if I can go better than 3-4, I'll be thrilled.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: GoldenStateGM on July 28, 2005, 02:23:23 PM 8 games this sim
5 at home vs. Knicks, 76'ers, Grizzlies, Kings, and Raptors 3 away vs. Sonics, Bucks, and Grizzlies. A realistic optimist could hope for 6-2... Would be pretty happy ith 5-3. Cannot wait to see how the Yao/Araujo matchup goes. Yao is much better defensively, but Araujo is the only other center in the league that can keep up with Yao offensively... Here's to foul trouble for Yao  Title: Re: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 02:43:45 PM Quote from: HornetsGM Quote from: BullsGM This is goin to be ugly for me, Pierce and Griffin are out for 4 more days, but luckily I only have 3 games over that period of time (Raptors, Hornets, Sixers) Hopefully I can go 2-3, or ideally steal one from the Sixers and go 3-2 I really want to avenge my 2 1 point losses to you. He's averaged 17 points per game on 47% shooting. I'm trying him out as my 2nd option now, and maybe this will boost his assist numbers.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on July 28, 2005, 05:40:04 PM alright....
I tried to run sim 5 now, and when I got to day 42 (2nd day of the sim), i got runtime 9 errors. tried simming it 4 times, got an error on that day every time. I'll try it on my desktop when I get hime. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 06:01:57 PM Thats odd...
When you getting home? Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on July 28, 2005, 06:41:24 PM That is weird.
Oh well, it was probably because the Raptors won too many games, unheard of in FBB and it couldnt handle it. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on July 28, 2005, 08:14:13 PM Nope, looks like this save's corrupted.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: SonicsGM on July 28, 2005, 08:15:59 PM Quote from: NetsGM Nope, looks like this save's corrupted. What does that mean? Is there a backup or something? Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on July 28, 2005, 08:17:40 PM I have backups of before and after every sim we've ever had, yes.
it just means i'm going to have to re-enter cuts/signings, positional changes and depth charts. Man that sucks. However, this is the time for that to happen, right? Imagine if this happened Day One of FA, right? Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 08:27:09 PM Well...hm...  that's all i can say. 2 of my best friend just got back from your state, they were working in New York, Millwauke and Detroit for 6 months so we had a few drinks more and they also brought some of your weed (pretty good stuff you guys have) and right now i can't see shit. And to make things worse, i have only 3 hors to sleep before god damn work.
But! GO KINGS! Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: CavsGM on July 28, 2005, 08:42:24 PM Dude, it's seriously enough. It's annoying as shit, the 257 posts of yours that talk about how you drink and do drugs all the time, and about all the beers you love and how you're in the middle of a hangover right now. Just cut that crap already. We get it, you're a cool guy...
Freakin douche bag... Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 08:44:04 PM Wow! I'm terriblly sorry for any incovinience...
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on July 28, 2005, 08:51:08 PM he's right, your daily drug habits should be for AA, not here.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 09:33:29 PM Nets, when ya comming home :) Got nothin better to do on a Thursday night than to wait for the sim
EDIT: nm, I see that you're running the sim Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: WolvesGM on July 28, 2005, 09:37:18 PM AHHH, my first sim is taking forever. The suspense is killin me.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on July 28, 2005, 09:40:50 PM it's up.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on July 28, 2005, 09:42:07 PM 7-2, Emeka and Chauncey look like they had tremendous sims. Emeka is now tied for the league lead in both rebounding and shotblocking.
due to foul trouble Emeka only played 18 minutes in a 5 pt loss to the raptors :( Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: SonicsGM on July 28, 2005, 09:44:21 PM 6-2, and now with the fifth (tied with Orlando) best record in the entire league.
Lost to Toronto (big surprise) and Golden State. Beat the Spurs (twice), Suns, Blazers, Lakers and Hornets. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: WolvesGM on July 28, 2005, 09:48:50 PM First sim.... 2-6.... :-\ ouch, amare a monster.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: CavsGM on July 28, 2005, 09:49:34 PM Damn, this was ugly. Just as I thought it would be. A 2-5 sim. I end up killing the Clippers, but getting beat by the Knicks. The Knicks! And I also get destroyed by Phoenix. Just a very bad sim overall.

Don't feel as bad about this Sim though - somehow I managed to go 3-3 and beat Portland and the 76ers as well. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 09:56:07 PM Went 1-4, meh what are you gonna do. Didn't have Griff or Pierce vs the Raptors, Hornets, Sixers. Lost by 2 to the Sixers and by 7 to the Bucks.
Just praying for an injury free season from here on out Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: HawksGM on July 28, 2005, 09:58:07 PM A 2-4 sim. Everyone played pretty poorly. AI had his most consistent scoring game as a Hawk, but only have one big game with 35. Drobnjak played really well also, I'm hoping Scot Pollard and he can do well as a tandem down low. Gadz also played ok but not great.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on July 28, 2005, 09:58:28 PM Thats weird, I guess Pierce got injured again during the sim because he didn't play a single game
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: Keith on July 28, 2005, 10:01:30 PM Another horrible sim here, 2-4. On a positive I did manage to get a win over the nets at least.

I never put injured players on my DC's, but they always play after they're injury is over. I assume the sim knows to put them back in, maybe I should start outting them in when they're injured anyways Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: BucksGM on July 28, 2005, 10:03:50 PM I changed the pace to slow, the defense showed some semblance of actually existing, and the result is a surprising 6-2 sim that puts me near 500 and in the 8 spot.
And to think my 2009 first round pick was being auctioned off as a Top 5 pick  It was also nice to win a road game for the first time this season, let alone going 3-1 on the road with a 1 point win against the Kings topping it off :D Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on July 28, 2005, 10:15:49 PM Quote from: BullsGM Quote from: NetsGM Quote from: BullsGM Thats weird, I guess Pierce got injured again during the sim because he didn't play a single game Dopey, you didn't have him in your depth chart: http://www.phillyarena.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=16241#16241 I didn't have Griffin on my DC either, he played. It will tend to give more talented players time, but it will start who you tell it to start. If that's not paul pierce, then it listens. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on July 28, 2005, 10:22:18 PM Decent sim, 6-2.
Now with a 6 game lead in the East. Problem is, Yao is out 4 games. The injury bug is biting. Title: dsadasd Post by: HeatGM on July 28, 2005, 10:36:30 PM a 3-3 sim....kittles went down...im giving away a lot of points....maybe i need to slow down the tempo
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on July 28, 2005, 10:38:06 PM Peja sets a new SSBA record against the Nets with 16 3PA. He only made 6, but oh well.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: SixersGM on July 28, 2005, 11:06:37 PM Tanner went down for 20+ days(too lazy to count) , but it is good sim for me.
I've won 12 out of the last 14 games. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on July 29, 2005, 12:13:13 AM Wow, on an unrelated topic, I just watched a 5 hour, 18 inning baseball game between the Jays and the Angels. The Jays won :)
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on July 29, 2005, 01:32:51 AM This team is starting to get hot. Only 4 - 2 but 2 of my loses was against the Bucks  and Raptors. Both lost by 1!! Damn.
Won vs Wolves, Grizzlies, Pistons and Warriors. Not a easy bunch. This team is ready to roll... Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: HornetsGM on July 29, 2005, 01:51:51 AM My God, Marion scores 31, Shaq has his 2nd career triple-double, and AI scores only 12 points in a home LOSS to the Hawks... I can't pick an emoticon that adequately translates my emotion, but this is close:   :bs:  :|
Basically my version of the emotional stages one goes through after a tragedy... Wow, I'm a pouter. GG Hawks. I saw Marion,then Shaq's triple-double and I tried to figure out how I won but I couldn't Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on July 29, 2005, 07:42:22 AM I'm finally satisfied with my first unit. They all have pretty good numbers;
Brad Miller; 14ppg, 9rpg, 1.4bpg Jerome James; 14ppg, 9rpg, 1.5bpg Drew Gooden; 14.4ppg, 9.6rpg, 1.3bpg Tracy Mcgrady; 28ppg, 6.5rpg, 5.2apg Stephon Marbury; 13.3ppg, 4rpg, 8apg, 2spg, 2.7tpg As far as backups i really suck as always, only Louisetti and Moiso (7.5ppg, 7rpg and 1.2bpg) somehow contribute. But without any serious injurie i think this team could go really far in the playoffs. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: MagicGM on July 29, 2005, 08:32:48 AM hyad a pretty good sim.. but expect some change on my dc's.. :D
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on July 29, 2005, 10:18:15 AM Wow...I beat the crap out of teams this sim.
For example, the heat shot 28.7% against me.... For the 9 game sim: Record: 7-2 Me: 111.7 ppg, 47.8% shooting, 44.3% 3pt, 72% ft Opp: 89.1 ppg, 38.1% shooting, 32.5% 3pt, 72% ft. ppg: +22.6 rpg: +6 apg: +2.5 bpg: +5 topg: -1.7 Pettit: 27.1 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 4.9 apg, 1.5 spg, 44.7% shooting, 35% 3pt, 88% ft Billups: 26.2 ppg, 8.3 apg, 4.7 rpg, 54% shooting, 55.3% 3pt Okafor: 19.7 ppg, 15 rpg, 3.5 bpg, 3 apg, 1.9 spg, 46% shooting, 70% ft. Dalembert with 11.3 rpg and 4.2 bpg. Battier with 11.1 ppg, 1.7 steals to only 0.4 turnovers. 54% shooting, 47% 3pt. Simply amazing contributions from my entire starting lineup. my top 3 was studly, and Battier was an amazing 4th option. Opposition's starters: PG: 36.6% shooting, 33% 3pt SG: 36.9% shooting, 30.7% 3pt SF: 41.6% shooting, 31.9% 3pt PF: 38% shooting C: 34.5% shooting Simply amazing defensive effort all around. Starting C's shooting 35% against Emeka on the year. DPOY. Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: OldNuggetsGM on July 29, 2005, 10:18:59 AM my sim didn't go too well. lost the first four before rebounding to take the last 3. I think the fact that I only have one frontcourt starter is starting to catch up, especially after the results from the Nets and Hornets games.
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on July 29, 2005, 11:57:25 AM Weed is a drug??
Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: CelticsGM on July 29, 2005, 06:34:09 PM After that 1-6 desaster last sim I'm looking at better times again. 4-3 with two close losses to Pacers and Nuggets. My second winning sim in three after failing to complete this task all of last season.
Lots of home games and none of the top teams involved so I know I'm still some steps away from real contention, but I feel I'm on the right track. Jefferson is for real, so much is clear. He does it on both ends of the floor now. Radman has a tough time currently but still is the veteran leader for my team. The rest of the guys is still looking for any type of consistency, but that may be because of my rotation, too. So I'll try something new and keep my lineup for another sim (which I haven't done before, ever...) Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: CelticsGM on July 29, 2005, 06:41:10 PM Quote from: KingsGM Weed is a drug?? I have no idea under which legislations weed is considered a drug but I know one thing for sure: SSBA IS A DRUG !!! Title: Sim 5 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on July 29, 2005, 07:44:40 PM Yeah, we should sue Bods for this terrible addiction. This is worse then heroin. :)
