Hm...

So 2nd day of FA I offer Collier a 4 year deal starting at 3.07 mil.  He doesn't take it.  Alright, maybe he doesn't want a multi-year deal.  So I offer him the MLE.

What does he do?  Takes the MLE for the Bucks.   :?:

Ah well, what are you gonna do.

Got some depth.  Not necessarily good depth, but some depth anyway.  Trenton Lo, Pape Sow and Marc Jackson (as well as Dial) will at least provide me with some options off the bench.  Tim Thomas was effective scoring wise last year off the bench, and Barbosa certainly has the ratings to be a good backup.

Now it's time for me to go offer Aaron Williams his annual 10 mil contract for this year.

We shall see. If everything stays when he moves to SG, he could start. If not, this is what I have:

Yao/Cato/Mihm
Mihm/Cato/Yao
Peja/Crawford/Sedran
Springs/House/Crawford
Davis/Lovelette/Newman

Basically, an equal starting 5, with so much more depth than last year.

... and it's getting worse by the minute

Now no one wanting to play for me is one thing but guys signing MY offer sheet for another team is outright embarrassing. Why don't you just move the Celtics to the NBDL sim and go on with a 28-team SSBA ? At least the bus travelling would save our organisation some money over the chartered flights here ...

Damn! I offered Vin baker the MLE, as desperate as I am for a big. The loser signed for the minimum

Hopefully Deion Robinson can improve either his inside game or defense/rebounding in TC...

Wow, hard to believe Gerald Wallace gets the MLE.

Last year and the year before he was not signed, and both years I just picked him up for a playoff run.

well, it would be interesting how the Lakers will utilize Gerald. As I think, they  wasted the MLe for him :D

he was a minimum player for the past 2 years.

Pacers: Your offers were entered.  It's possible I forgot to switch to the Celtics before entering his bids.  His bids were the next one submitted to me after yours, it's possible I didn't switch teams.

I have a save file immediately before the sim was run (after I entered all the bids).  If I did enter the teams wrong, I'll go back and move the correct players over to the celtics.  Unfortunately I have the save file on my desktop, so it'll have to wait until I get home tonight.

Well, Collier passed on MLE offers from me and the wolves (teams with 56 and 58 win ratings) as well to go to the bucks (33).  The man had a 6 play for winner rating and a 1 loyalty rating.  Yikes.

Would he have signed with you?  Your offer was submitted, and Collier did make his decision before Anthony Johnson signed.  The listings on the transaction page are in order that it happened.  Collier was listed first, so he made his decision before Johnson accepted your offer.  Want an example?  Take a look at my signings.

I went into the day with $3,072,519 in cap space.  I signed the following players:
Leandro Barbosa - $3,072,519
Tim Thomas - $7,773,536
Marc Jackson - $5,400,000
John Salmons - $653,350
Trenton Lo - $540,850

Now, in order for Barbosa to sign, he had to make his decision before any of the other 4 players, because if one of those players sign before him, I don't have $3.072,519 in cap room, and can't sign him.

Take a look at the transactions page, and the order's exactly right.  Barbosa was the first one to sign, which put me exactly at $0 in cap room.  Then Tim Thomas and Marc Jackson were signed with early bird rights (120% of previous year salary), and John Salmons and Trenton Lo signed with minimum exceptions.  If Barbosa was in any other spot, he couldn't have signed.

The mistake didn't cost you your shot at Collier, as he signed before your MLE was used.

Billy Joe Kim got a big deal from the Heat, not really sure why, he's a good rebounder w/A potential so I guess if he improves enough he might be worth it

why is everyone surprised Collier would spurn 3 teams to join the Bucks? :D

Thanks bods for correcting that Johnson mistake. I'm glad I got him as, even if he wasn't my first choice there, he's exactly what I need there (and had in Eisley last year)

I was really close of removing my GMotY nomination for the Pacers ...
