Very, very interested trade with both sides ending up with good stuff. IMO Swift is not good as Gasol and that's why WarriorsGM wanted pick in return also. This way he gets one of the best and youngest frontcourt in the league while Gasol is perfect compliment to Ferry and can easily lead Pistons to playoff all by himself. Both 2 teams have pretty nice 3 man combo in Nash/Gasol/Ferry - Hinrich/Swift/Araujo BUT! i don't think it will bring them some major improvements cause basically they just switched the PF stars.

And since i like Gasol more, i'll give a edge to the Pistons for this one...but anyway, pretty fair and even trade

This is a good trade for both teams, but I give the slight edge to the Warriors.  Pistons could have kept Stromile and had a very good PF while signing a very good FA without losing a piece.  Now they give away a future pick while getting a PF who isn't that much better than the one they already had.  I love Stromile (from my experience before he's a defensive monster) as a fit for the Warriors as Hinrich and Araujo can carry the offensive load while Strom is a great 3rd option

Gasol is the better player in this trade, but not by too much...

With Araujo and Hinrich as my first and second options,  Strom will be great as a 3rd option.  And, I am really hoping his defense will keep Araujo out of foul trouble.  He should also be a good shotblocker back at his natural PF spot (he played 3/4 of the season at SF last year)

When I finally had DC set for the last 3 sims, either Gasol or Araujo was getting in foul trouble.  Swift will improve my defense, and if he can help keep Araujo out of foul trouble, this trade is more then worth it.

Araujo is a 30 ppg scorer if I can keep him on the court for 35-38 mpg...

not a bad trade but i think there are better defenders here than swift.
also with both inside payers still young and improving i think you should have waited at least to the next deadline.
gasol is one of the better all around players maybe he can play with ferry but i doubt it.

Lol...  There certainly are better defenders then Swift.  But I tried trading Gasol for those better defenders/rebounders earlier in the season, and no one was interested.

I think Gasol is a great player, and a guy that will score 22 ppg for another 4-5 years.  And his C handle (which is where he is much better then Swift) makes him a great primary option. But Araujo is my first option, and Hinrich played very, very well as my 2nd option (16 ppg and 9.3 apg on 51% field, and 52% from 3 in 15 games as a second option)

There is a good chance I will regret this trade later, possibly right after TC.
But Gasol has a history of fouling out (averages about 10 DQ's per season, which is very high)

In the 15 games when I had my settings figured out, I had one major problem.  Araujo only averaged 33 mpg because of foul trouble, 3.7 fpg (and 26 ppg in that span as well).
And Gasol averaged 3.3 fpg in that same time frame.
In 90% of those games, either Gasol or Araujo was in foul trouble.  Just cannot win when your best players are fouling out...

I am hoping that Swift's help defense will keep Araujo on the court for about 36 mpg.  And when Araujo is on the court for over 35 mpg, he averages 30 ppg and 12 rpg.

I thought Gasol and Hinrich would be the cores of my team, but have decided that the Araujo/Hinrich combo is better the Gasol/Hinrich.  I just have to find the complementary players...

Very sad to see Gasol go.  Hope he has an excellent career in Detroit (preferably starting after 2010 :) )

I absolutely love stro.  probably one of the best 3rd options in the game.  Perfect fit, IMO.

hmm....im not a fan on a 2 for 1 deal... i like this for the pistons...its important to have star players than role players in order to win the championships or in the playoffs.....
