I see Nets got Okafor.

I'm breathing a HUGE sigh of relief.  My offer was 14 million more total than the next highest, but I still wasn't completely confident.

But yeah, I know think I can claim the best pf/c combination in the league

Of course, I also think I can claim the worst pg, sg, and sf combination, as well as the worst bench in the league.

Big men rule in SSBA, trust me.

My f/c of Ratliff, Okafor and Darko DOMINATED.

Have fun.

Yeah, but you had jason kidd :)

I'm a little worried about how well Okafor and Boozer work together.  A little too many bodies in the paint potentially, especially when you figure in I'm hoping to get humphries 20-25 minutes.  But should be good defensively and on the boards, and they're both 21 and should be here for the next decade :)

My hope is to, if those two don't carry me to the playoffs, is to get a top 10 pick, get my 3rd impact player that way, then fill in my roster with solid role players.  If I have my big 3 (Okafor, Boozer, draft pick) set in stone for years, then hopefully finding the right pieces to put around them should be possible over time.

Well, I have Emeka playing a few mins at the 3, and he seemed fine there.

I mean, his defense must have been pretty strong there, since I gave up under 90 ppg.

But hey, you've taken one of the worst teams into a team to be feared. Well done.

Yeah, well I got lucky when I found a team under the cap willing to absorb salary.  I had originally intended to try to trade kidd for expiring contracts and draft picks.  Package RJ with Zo to get someone to an expiring and dump zo.  Suck this year, take the draft pick I got from Kidd, my draft pick this year (which would have been top 3, easy), and cap room for 2 max free agents next year and build on that.  I had about 6 million in cap room.  There were 2 teams with more room than me, and the Hawks with almost 4 million more in cap room this year.  I thought at best I could get Swift, and would have been happy with that.

then I started to get talking to the Sonics about RJ.  That grew into RJ and Kidd, and not only was I able to get a very productive young player (Boozer) who would be easier to build around than a 30 year old Kidd.  And, not only that, I could add 6 million in cap room THIS YEAR.  I couldn't turn that down.  I got real lucky, I wasn't expecting any teams with cap room to absord that kind of salary.

Well, I wish I was as lucky as you. I've been trying to trade Vince, but I won't do it unless I can package Jalen, and nobody will take that on, even with Vince's ratings.

If there was a team under the cap that could give me little in return, I'd still do it.

Next year's free agent market is gonna be pretty nice.

Jalen Rose's defense actually isn't that bad in this sim.  If you could find anyone with that kind of expendable salary, it should be possible.  Depending on if Humph improves in training camp, I might be interested in vince.

Well, Like I say, Vince is most lilely going with Jalen. But I'm open to anything. If the right deal comes along for Vince alone, I'll jump on it.

By the way, I think that's a great Pick up by the Sonics - Malone.

Got another big man.

Zydrunas and Karl Malone anchor a nice frontcourt that also contains Jerome James, Robert Traylor and, for now, Rashard Lewis.

Didnt sign anyone, well FA sucks anyway. If i was on the FA list,i would look so good that teams would sign me for their entire MLE. And with my superb dunking ability, nets might even sign me more than emeka, something like 13m for 18 years.

Miller is 315 lbs and has A- defense and B rebounding. Take a look, he's better than both of your frontcourt players in those categories.
Think before you flame.

Yeah, Miller can definitely be a nice role player.  It's not like he's locked up to a long term deal, so there's really no risk.

You know, it's times like this that I wish the NBA operated like MLB and you could sell players to Japanese teams.

Domo arigato, Mr. LaFrentz!

I had a nice backcourt with Kidd and Arroyo and now I just improved my frontcourt depth considerably with the signing of Brown.....still working on that last piece at SG though...my defense should be remarkable, but it might not help if i'm not able to score...i'm interested to see how it plays out...Kidd has a way of distributing the ball well to a bunch of mediocre scorers and I still have my 1st round pick for the upcoming draft to either improve my depth or to add in with some tradeable assets to earn an improvement at SG.

yeah he might be nice if he could get up and down the court in time to actually be a factor
