My team will be playing 10 straight games, can't wait to see how my boys perform...

are you guys excited? :D

I play 8 games, 6 on the road.

The best I can hope for is a 6-2, me thinks. That would be a great start.

I play 8 games out of 10 sim days. I just hope that my new formula goes well and I also hope that nobody gets injured.

Im also excited to see how Tim Duncan would perform with a very pleased A+ defense.

I have 3 terrifying games (mavs, pacers twice).  Hoping to get one.  Hoping for a 4-3 sim.

My lord

I'm honestly hoping for a 1-6 sim, I think I'll go 0-7

I face the Kings, Jazz, Pacers, Wizards, Pistons twice, Clippers.  Ouch

like last year i will start with a very tough schedule..
if i can get a 4-4 out of the first 10 days i will be pleased.
redd with his new improved defense will have a very hard schedule.
two times he will paly petit who is now in the same cat as T-mac or Kobe and a very interesting matchup with allen who i hope is his role model.
with an improved foster i hope i can compete at the Center position now.

I'm interested to see how Wade will preform. Other than that it looks like 1 more season waiting for bosh to finally improve, and wade should get better as well.

Looking forward to seeing how the combination of Gasol and Odom does now.  They both could be capable of putting up 25 ppg at this point...
Hoping Kirk keeps up his great shooting from last year, and can get some more steals.

Can't wait to see if this team can really produce.

Have such a huge hole at SG. Hopefully House can be a surprise.

Obviously still pretty pissed about Baron, but I still think he will be one of the top PG's. Wonder if his apg will go down or up. He lost a handle rating, but he has better teammates.

Projected starters stats:

Yao- 22,11,3
Mihm-12,10,2
Peja-24,6,4
House-5,5,4
Baron-13,10,5

Going for my first ever win as a GM !!!

Have 7 tries today and among 'em Lakers & Hawks at home. Any additional W in my dates with Raps, Wolves, Nets, Sixers and Mavs would be a hell of a sensation for this young group.

5-3. Cool.

Peja!! 33ppg. Yao!! 24ppg, 12.6 rpg. Mihm!! 17.7ppg, 13rpg.

Baron!! 14.4ppg, 11.6rpg.

Eddie House...you suck.

Depth!! yeah, I don't have any.

Well, I lost Mihm for a few days, which could explain a few of the losses.

Chauncey Billups for Kelvin Cato..good trade :)

as usual, started off slow, 2-4...just like every year, all 6 games crazy close.

bibby 21ppg,10apg,5rpg
mcgrady 30ppg,6rpg,4apg
miller 15ppg,10rpg,1.5spg,1.5bpg

and my favorite; kings 118,raptors 117

HOLY ISH!  I was expecting 1-6 and I got 5-2!!

I won 5 straight, I destroyed the Pacers, destroyed the Wizards, beat the Pistons by 8, beat them again by 2, beat the clippers by 8

Man Pierce is a beast!  27/8/5

Mercer with 24/8

Griffin with 16/10/3

There is a downside though, Mercer and Pierce have a combined 10 tournovers per game...

Well, the C's did get their first win.

Quote
Chauncey Billups for Kelvin Cato..good trade

What are the Nugs record?

4-3.  Exactly what I predicted.  I just didn't predict the right wins.

Beat the Pacers....Lost to the Blazers?  Huh?

Emeka's been amazing.  Sammy's been amazing.

My starting pf and center average:
Rebounds: 12.7 and 12.4
Blocks: 2.7 and 4.4

And Emeka's getting 24.6 ppg on 44.8% shooting, 67.5% ft.  Don't expect that to last.

Pettit struggled.  Don't expect that to continue.  45% shooting, but 31% from downtown.

Billups was downright amazing.  14.7 ppg, 11.1 apg, 2.4 tpg, 46.8% fg, 50% 3pt, 91.7% ft.  I think he's learning how nice it is to get easy shots from Okafor and Pettit :)

Tanner with 14.6, 10, with 4.1 blocks.  Hey Hawks, if you don't want him, I'll take him.

Damn, look at hoffa.

Opponents are shooting 39.7% against me, but drilling their 3's (46.3).  Luckily they're not shooting many against me.

Nets, you were right about outside shooting, Griffin is 86% from the FT line

Yesterday night I was bummed, but now I feel real good about my team.  Although its only 1 sim, I beat some quality teams, like I said I was expecting to go 1-6

The Breakdown:

Raptors 108 Knicks 83 --Nice way to start the season with a 25 point blowout. Peja scored 40 on 14-21 shooting. Baron had 20 points and 10 assists. Yao had 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Raptors 99 Magic 94 --Nice 4th quarter comeback. Peja had 27 points. Yao had 20 points, 8 rebounds. Casey Jacobsen came off the bench and scored 15 on 5-6 shooting. Mihm had 14 points, 16 rebounds.

Kings 118 Raptors 117 --Lost a heartbreaker. Peja scored 42 points on 14 of 26 shooting. Yao had 26 points, 12 rebounds. Baron Davis had 19 assists.

Knicks 95 Raptors 92 --Another touch loss. Peja and Yao both scored 33 points. Yao had 15 rebounds to go along with that. Davis had 16 points, 13 assists. I had only 6 guys score.

Raptors 97 Magic 96 --Wow, GREAT game by Peja. 47 points on 20-29 shooting. 7-8 from downtown. Yao had 28 points, 12 rebounds. Davis had 11 points, 17 assists. Again only 6 guys score.

Raptors 96 Cavs 93 --Very lucky to get this game. Yao fouled out in 23 minutes. Peja had 26 points and 13 rebounds, a great game for him. Davis had 24 points and 8 assists. Yao had 23 points in those 23 minutes that he played.

Celtics 92 Raptors 86 --Shot only 38%, so couldn't expect to win. Peja had 28 points. House had his best game with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Yao played a terrible 21 minutes going 2-12 for 8 points and 14 rebounds.

Raptors 95 Sixers 93 --Ended the sim on a nice note, beating the Sixers. Yao had a fantastic game with 36 points, 19 rebounds, 8 assists. Peja chipped in 21 points, and Davis had 12 points, 11 helpers. Bo Outlaw gave me 36 great minutes.

Overall, pretty happy with my sim. Once I get Mihm back I will look like a pretty good team. House is still a huge question mark, as the SG of the opposition was the high scorer 4 out of 8 games. I'm happy with the minutes Jacobsen gave me off the bench. He could play his way into the starting lineup.

As of Yao, he needs to get out of foul trouble, although I understand that he would have more fouls without Mihm in the lineup. If Peja continues to score like he has been, and Baron can GET THE DAMN TURNOVERS DOWN to respectability, I'll be just fine.

Oh, I am, but oh well...
My team, outside of Gasol and Odom could not hit a shot.

I will do the breakdown later, but Hinrich has not shot well.  I may have to move Odom out of the primary position, and move him back to number 2.  He just racks up those turnovers so fast...  But oddly, my team is ranked about 6th in total turnovers...  maybe he just gets them all.
Marko Jaric lost his starting spot.  Going to give Hinkle a try next sim.

well the main reason for my slow start is probably the fact that i released 3 players (piatkowski, padget and gates) and i signed potapenko, fred jones and varejao but they haven't played a minute so far, so i was practically 7 or 8 man team in the 1st sim

Title: Sim 1 Discussion

Boozer has been good, but Gooden's stats don't exactly warrent a max contract.

Ellis shouldn't have been the 6th pick in that draft.

Sonics had a dissapointing sim, Kundla isn't playing like his ratings

Whats with Drew Fox not getting ANY playing time?

And I think its time for the Lakers to shake up their core, Wade/Bosh just aren't doin it.  He has some big decisions to make this offseason, no way Bosh and Wade are worth big contracts if they keep postin 12 ppg each

Agreed about the Lakers. He wanted youth so bad he traded away all his good players. He would be a better team with Mihm and last year's 6th pick than with Bosh.

Cavs went 4-2. Not bad at all. Z is carrying the scoring load, but LeBron still needs to step it up. How about the other two big men on the cavs. Lafentz and Elson combining for 22 rebounds per game, although their shooting is despicable. Miller is playing great as #3, with a tremendous overall game. 17, 8, 6, and 2. And I'm really loving what Terpening is doing for me. 12, 6, 3, 1.5 and 1.5 in 29 MPG off the bench. Can anyone say 6th man of the year?

But..

TD is by far the MVP of this season. Leading the league in scoring and rebounds. Not to mention his 2.5bpg and 2.1spg. His stats this season, (33.6ppg 15.5rpg 2.1spg 2.5bpg)

Im 5th in scoring, 5th in rebounds per game, 1st in assists and 1st in steals.

Not too bad.  Went 6-2 with a new lineup and new offensive focus, despite guys getting hurt all over the place.  Camby missed 5 games, and because of a DC mixup that was entirely my own fault, I had Hunter starting at C instead of Cato, so Cato went from being a starting center to the bench/3rd big man when Camby went down.

But unlike Raptors' opinion, the duo of Camby/Cato played pretty darn well: in game 1, MC got 19 and 15 with 3 blocks, and KC got 13 and 16 with 6 dimes.  In game 2, MC got 16 and 14 with 7 blocks, and KC got 12 and 14 with 2 blocks.  Camby went down in game 3, and Cato was playing Shaq, so that's as far as the comparison can go.

Plus, with Boykins now starting, he messed around and dropped a triple double in game 3.  He also sports a 10.4/1.4 assist-to-TO ratio through 8 games.

Camby got hurt in game 3, Cato in game 7, and Allen in game 8, so the next DC will have some major changes.

Oh, and Collison averaged a 13 and 8 over 30 MPG, shooting 54%.  When Camby went down and he became the starting PF, he went for 16 and 15, 14 and 9, 18 and 12, 29 and 16 against the Jazz (on 12-17 shooting), and then 14 and 7 with 5 blocks against Jermaine O'Neal.  I think it's safe to say that I don't miss KMart too much.

edit: I totally overlooked Carter.  Averaged 22 on 49% shooting, 40% from beyond.  Nothing special, just a consistent 2nd option, which is all I was looking for.

i alow 106ppg and my starting five is on defense B+,A-,A-,A-,A- and the rest of the bench; B-,B-,B+,B-,B,B-,B+,B+ and B...

i don't get it :bash:

forget this kind of stats.
if you check your bockscore you will see that you lost against teams you are supposed to loose. you played 5 teams with a great inside core and your biggest problem is inside defense and rebounds.take your time and wait two more sims than you can tell if you have to make adjustments.

LOL, looks like Mo Pete has found a home.  The Suns are giving him 39 minutes per night and he's averaging 7/6/3 with 1.4 SPG.  Not bad for Mo Pete standards, although he really has to get those %'s up

Damn, whats up with Kobe

Yeah, MoPete played well, he had to step in and start for Hamiliton when he went down.

3-4 isent bad with my bestplayer out of action. i had hoped for a 4-3, 5-2 sim with kobe in the lineup, but i'll take the 3-4 w/o him. hopefully he can stay healthy. i was very happy with collier/Lo combo at center, and K-Mart/McDyess pf duo. and i like Hav at the point, his progression is going to be a key for my team.

5-3 is very solid for my schedule..
biggest surprise so far are the bullls imo
redd is just insane.. against the rockets he almost had his first triple double
but i will have to try to give JO more shots..
next sim will be crazy 9 games in 9 days and also against very tough opponents.. if i can go 4-5 it will be okay.

When your team has no offensive stars the results are interesting.

Tinsley putting up 20/5/8
Donta Smith putting up 19/6/3

I couldn't access Team Rosters before making the first depth chart so I computer recommended everything.  I didn't know Tinsley's offense and Harpring's offense and rebounding had gone up.

Well, as almost everyone is excited and happy about day 1, I can say I'm definitely NOT. I know rebuilding is a harsh and sometimes longtime process, but it's still pretty tough to lose home games to the Hawks AND Lakers on the first day as a GM (I believe in reality I'd already have a "date" with the owner scheduled).

While Eddy did what expected (although not at a .393 clip), even holding down Yao to get my first win, and Barry probably needs just more offensive freedom, the rest of the crew played, well, average at best. You could make a case that these guys ARE average now, but still ...

... not even ONE standout performance from ANYBODY in 7 games played is a bit frustrating.

But anyway, it's back to the practice facility for my guys (just 5 games in next Sim) and as of now the spirit is still high! We will continue the young way and everybody gets a chance to perform here. And as soon as I figure out a system that fits my team (currently I have NO CLUE   ) - which might take half the season - we'll win our share of games as well.

Pistons are 3-5!  Completely horrible...  I Lose to the Magic by 3, then beat them by 20+...  Lose 2 close games to the Bulls, then Blow out the T-Wolves by 51 and 21...  Then lose a close one to the Pacers and lose by 20 to the Heat...  This is very weird, I averaged 97.8 ppg and my opponents are averaging 91.3 ppg and I have a losing record???  Figure that one out...

Anyways Ferry played well averaging 22 ppg and 7 rpg(rpg needs to go up), Stromile played well also averaging 20 ppg and 7 rpg...  Gadzuric picked up where he left off in the play-offs averaging 14 ppg and 10 rpg...

Looks like I have a good team, but I need to mess around with my DC...

2-6, not a good record at all, Tanner played well and so did Melo, but both may be on their way out of town, I'm fed up w/my team...time for a change in strategy and personnel

The Grizzlies are off to a slow start. The only reason behind this is because of poor shooting from the entire team. Look for them to rebound next sim. One highlight is the play of Del Negro who in 1-2 seasons will be the next Ray Allen but with better defense.

Guess he'll probably end up closer to the ocean, likes the Bay Area more than the Mile High City (which I personally prefer as well ... ;-) )
