Ding ding ding....
Wow, that is a shocker... Yao does not resign.
The two best centers in the league are on the free agent market this year, Shaq and Yao...

yea real shocker for me too, since the rockets really risk to loose him for nothing.

Yeah, that's pretty amazing with his loyalty. The Rockets can still offer him the most money though... Same with the Heat with Shaq.

There's always a chance that you'll get them though. I remember in the last league I decided not to accept a max deal demand by Chandler. He ended up taking less money from a team that had a worse win rating. Chandler also had really high loyalty. I couldn't believe it.

Rockets can offer him the same max contract as everyone else in the league, since 120% of his previous salary is less than the maximum allowed by league.

Shaq's different, since 120% of his previous salary is greater than the max allowed based on experience.

hmm are you sure. the rockets can give him a 7 yr max contract with an increase of 12%. i think that is more than anyone else can.

yes, raises and years are different.  I meant base salary.

He'll most likely resign. Overall, this is pretty disapointing. I was really hoping that Big Ben would be my guy.

Now there's Yao, Gooden and Shaq. Yao most likely won't want to come here, although I'll offer him the max. The nets or Rockets will probably get him.

So do I offer Shaq a contract and hope to get Gooden 2nd day? Or do I just sign Gooden?

Hmm.

Yao always test the FA market. :bash:

Yeah, here I am again.  In our last league I desperately cleared cap space to make a run for yao (literally giving away a 1st round pick for a future 2nd round pick), only to have him go back to the rockets.

I've got a slightly better team this year (and rockets a worse team), so who knows.

but he'll most likely go back.

Amare was the one I wanted, and thought I had a chance for.  Unfortunately the friggin Wiz made the playoffs.

Well, I guess Sammy is a decent back-up plan.   :rrofl:

Oh, I wouldn't keep all 3.  Either Amare or Emeka would go for a top flight sf or pg ;)

Well, Sammy, Amare, and Marion would be an OK frontcourt...
You know, if you like dominating defense, rebounding, and 60 ppg out of your C, PF, and SF...

and a cluster bleep in the paint with no perimeter defense...

Well Yao will recieve a max offer from me. Hopefully he will accept it on like the 4th or 5th day so I can use what little cap space I have on someone else.

If Yao re-sign the most likely scenario is that he or Peja will be traded, I will move as many contracts as I can an the Rockets will rebuild. Complete overhaul!

Next year won't be a season of mediocracy (sp?). Either major rebuild or I'll get lucky in FA and scrape some sort of competative team together, the first is more likely however...  :?

Didn't you hear no MLE.  If he accept your MLE, I might as well offer him my LLE.
