Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:28:46 PM Trade 1:
Raptors Trade: Doug Christie Sam Cassell Hornets Trade: Baron Davis Trade 2: Raptors Trade: Luol Deng Hornets Trade: Chris Wilcox Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: HornetsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:33:43 PM agree
I will cut Frank Williams to make it work. Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:34:35 PM Hey, what can I say.
Trade another NICE young prospect in Deng for a 2 time all star, best PG in the League. Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: HawksGM on April 28, 2005, 02:35:42 PM I think it's a nice deal for both teams...the D on the Hornet squad is crazy....it's been a big deadline too, a lot of good players moving
Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: HornetsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:38:37 PM I do this partially for cap reasons, but I really like Deng, and Cassell is only a year off of all-league 3rd team. Christie was a very nice added bonus.
Davis was the face of my franchise, but his turns per game were a little out of control. He was my first option on offense, on a pretty lackluster offensive team, so I think his numbers might be a bit inflated (which is what I thought about Hughes too.) Overall, I don't think it's a terrific trade for me. Davis is probably the best pg in the game at this point. However, I am at the point where I need to trade talent for depth (especially after trading most of draft picks for Marion.) Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:44:08 PM For me, Chrisite and Cassell were not going to be resigned. Neither is Wilcox. So it's Deng and Cap Space for Davis.
Davis, with the A+ defense and A- handling will be great. So will be the B potential, meaning at 25 years old, he's only going to get better. And I will still have enough for a max contract if Gooden won't resign. Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: CavsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:10:25 PM Raptors have to get some sort of prize for making the most trades.

Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: NetsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:19:21 PM Quote best PG in the League. I think that's a bit of a stretch. Top 3 for sure though Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:22:16 PM Quote from: NetsGM Quote best PG in the League. I think that's a bit of a stretch. Top 3 for sure though Who is the best then? No other's have A+ defense, A- handling. And those, for me, are the 2 most important stats. Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: NetsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:26:01 PM Depends on what type of ballhandling you're looking for.
If he has 4.4 turnovers, that tells me 2 things. 1) Great at creating for others 2) bad at taking care of the ball it all depends if you're asking him to initiate the offense. I'm not going to make a list though. At least not that I want public. Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: CavsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:27:26 PM It's arguable. The rookie, Mercer, is right up there with Davis. I'm scared to see what his ratings will be like in another year, with his B potential. Jason Williams is damn good, too. Check out his A/TO ratio. It's much better.
Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:27:57 PM That's fair, 4.4 is alot, but I think that will go down on my team. Every player on my team is capable of scoring, meaning they should be looking for the ball, ready to score.
Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: HornetsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:31:39 PM Will he be your first option?
Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:34:39 PM Quote from: HornetsGM Will he be your first option? Nope, 2nd for now. His offensive ratings aren't enough to merit a first option. Boozer is a clear cut first. Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: CavsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:46:00 PM I think I'm up there with total trades. Not as much as you though, that's for sure. I'll count now.
Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: CavsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:51:24 PM 11. Not bad.
Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: HornetsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:54:29 PM :rrofl: @ Oliver Miller's nickname Cavs
BTW, he still holds my team record for points in a game  Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: CavsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:56:18 PM Hey he's got bulk you can't argue with that. I feel bad for any player that takes a charge with him driving down the lane.

Jason kidd has A and A...but the age and scoring puts Baron above him Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: BullsGM-old on April 28, 2005, 04:07:28 PM Mason Mercer gives Baron some competition
Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: KingsGM-old on April 28, 2005, 06:45:40 PM so does bibby...but he's playin on a lottery team so that doesn't count :)
Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 08:25:19 PM Bibby and Mercer are both up there, but are both A-, A-, whereas Davis is A-, A+.

Yeah, Baron is undoughtably the better distributer, but Mercer is way a way better scorer (but then again, a PG doesn't have to score). I also would think Mercer isn't done improving. The funny thing is that Mercer is averaging 0.5 BPG and hes 5'7' :) Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 08:29:34 PM Quote from: BullsGM Quote from: RaptorsGM Bibby and Mercer are both up there, but are both A-, A-, whereas Davis is A-, A+. Mercer is the better scorer, true, and maybe that's what you need for your team, making him a perfect fit. But I needed someone to defend, becase Ellis at SG is a defensive liability. Are you going to play Baron 40 MPG like the Hornets did? Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 08:37:00 PM I'm going to play Baron how ever long the computer plays him :)
He is my starting PG, and that is the only place where he appears in my depth chart. Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: BullsGM-old on April 28, 2005, 08:39:27 PM Quote from: RaptorsGM I'm going to play Baron how ever long the computer plays him :) He is my starting PG, and that is the only place where he appears in my depth chart. Yeah but most people only use one of the 3 depth chart slots for starters (starter/bench/bench), but Hornets played Baron for the 1rst 2 (Baron/Baron/bench). Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 08:41:27 PM Nope, not going to do that. Really like Lovelette, want to get him some time.

Nah, I played it as Baron / Shammond Williams / Baron The reason he got so much pt is that I was playing a slow pace, so he and hughes didn't get tired. Title: Raptors/Hornets Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 08:55:39 PM I'm trying a fast pace. Should cut into the mins and TOs for Baron.
