Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 27, 2005, 09:35:50 PM Raptors Trade:
Greg Ostertag 2008 Raptors First 2009 Raptors First 2009 Raptors Second Sonics Trade: Drew Gooden Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: SonicsGM on April 27, 2005, 09:37:32 PM I decided that I would probably lose Gooden on the market anyways, so I picked up a pair of future picks for him.
Man, my team is terrible at it's current state. Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 27, 2005, 09:40:42 PM Well, I love this trade for me. Love it, love it LOVE IT as long as Gooden resigns. His highest rating is play for winner, which I should be. I'll give him a big contract, and still have lots of cap space left.
Right now, I don't know where he fits in. I'm thinking move Deng to SG, bring Ellis and Chrisite of the bench, and start either Boozer or Gooden at SF. Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 27, 2005, 10:01:34 PM Since the Sonics aquired Gooden, he has played SF every game, and has averaged
33.27mpg 45.5% FG Shooting 20% 3 point Shooting 63.33% FT Shooting 8.64 Rebounds/Game 1.63 Assists/Game 1 Steal/Game 1.18 Turnover/Game 22.64 Points/Game Of course, this was as a number 1 option. But 23 and 9 off 46% shooting...I'll take that for Ostertag and picks. Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: BullsGM-old on April 27, 2005, 10:08:07 PM Wow... I mean I can understand that Sonics feels Gooden won't resign so future picks is better than nothing. But damn..Ostertag!? I wish I knew Gooden was going for this cheap
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 27, 2005, 10:15:52 PM In Ostertag's defense, he's not that bad.
And Gooden isn't even a starter for me, yet. Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: CavsGM on April 27, 2005, 10:17:58 PM Damn. I actually made an offer for Gooden. Pretty funny. That would have been his third time around with the Cavs. Sonics said that there was a better offer, I guess that this one was it. Gooden is a good catch.
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: BullsGM-old on April 27, 2005, 10:18:00 PM Either way, the Sonics most likely won't resign Ostertage either (I'm just assuming this). So basically it was Gooden for 2 future 1rsts.
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: NetsGM on April 27, 2005, 10:25:13 PM Quote Gooden for 2 future 1rsts. Sounds about right to me. Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 27, 2005, 10:28:56 PM Yup, it pretty well was. But If I can't resign him either, then the Sonics win.
I just don't know where to put him. I guess he will be first man off the bench this year, and if I can resign him, I will move him to SF and have a lineup of Mihm Boozer Gooden Deng Ellis Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: BullsGM-old on April 27, 2005, 10:35:48 PM Quote from: RaptorsGM Yup, it pretty well was. Deadline is tommorow and something had to be done, 2 1rst could turn out great. The 09 pick could be interesting, you never know what happens in 2-3 years Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 27, 2005, 10:48:44 PM Well, guys, send me whatever offer you have for Gooden. As long as it gets to me by 7 am tommorow, because I may or may not be able to get on after that.
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: SonicsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:26:34 AM I figure that in two years, the Raps may not be good, and I could get a lottery pick for a player who isn't even returning. Ostertag will not return, and probably won't play much the rest of the season.
Ostertag is available to any interested party. I have cap space to bring me dpth and my starters.... Mihm=25, Boozer=22, Gooden=24, Deng=19, Ellis=22. Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: KingsGM-old on April 28, 2005, 09:27:46 AM shit, i offered him brad miller for gooden, and he's gone for 2 worthless 1st rounders?!?
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: NetsGM on April 28, 2005, 09:30:03 AM Kings: I'm guessing Sonics wasn't looking to take on salary, that's why he went with the first round picks.
And don't bring private trades out in a public forum. A lot of people do it, but they shouldn't. Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: KingsGM-old on April 28, 2005, 09:32:12 AM but this one is over!?
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: NetsGM on April 28, 2005, 09:33:42 AM Doesn't matter, it's still wrong. Not everyone wants the entire league to know what was offered to them or what they offered to someone else.
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: KingsGM-old on April 28, 2005, 09:38:56 AM ok. good to know. i'm still a rookie...
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: SixersGM on April 28, 2005, 11:38:37 AM Wow.. i hate to be sonics' GM's ass right now.
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:18:30 PM Meh, he wasn't going to resign Gooden. And I've made 13 trades so far, I'll probably make a bunch more, and my teamcould fall apart, meaning the firsts are valuable.
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: MavsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:21:49 PM I don't get why people worry about not resigning their guy. Rookie mistake. :screwy:

Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: HornetsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:24:56 PM Sonics first next year is lookin good for the Hawks right about nowish
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:27:13 PM Wrong thread, weiner.
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: HornetsGM on April 28, 2005, 02:55:08 PM Quote from: RaptorsGM Wrong thread, weiner. nuh uh! I think the Sonics made a mistake in the trade, trading away the ONLY position that they had locked up, unless Jacques Collier is considered a franchise player these days  Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: RaptorsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:06:48 PM Oh I gotcha. My baaaad.
Title: Raptors/Sonics Trade Post by: CavsGM on April 28, 2005, 03:22:24 PM Quote from: KingsGM shit, i offered him brad miller for gooden, and he's gone for 2 worthless 1st rounders?!? You really gotta understand matching salary and the 60 day trade rule. Miller's contract - 8.75 mil Gooden's contract - 4.065 mil Gooden was traded to the Sonics on Day 71. So you know that no salary can be added(or do you), because the only way to work around the 60 day rule is by trading the player(Gooden) alone. So there ya go, no Gooden/Miller exchange was possible. I think the Sonics made a mistake in the trade, trading away the ONLY position that they had locked up, unless Jacques Collier is considered a franchise player these days  I had nothing locked up - Gooden is a FA with high greed. Now, I have loads of picks that can be traded in the future (picks are much easier to trade than players) and tons of cap space. In addition, I have at least four top-ten picks this year to build my club and I have three decent youngsters (litwack, collier, baly) as well. The plan is working, but it could also explode in my face. |
