Title: Sim 8 Discussion
Post by: RaptorsGM on April 24, 2005, 10:11:31 AM
Can't wait. The longest wait is from the Thursday to Sunday sim. Not just in duration, but also because the weekend is when we have the most activity.

I'm just hoping for a 5-4.

I'm looking for a huge week, optimistically maybe 9-2, realistically maybe 7-4

Hopefully the last trade doesn't hurt the Cavs' hot play as of late. A hard schedule with 9 games. 6-3 would be good...

Another blasted 7 game road trip...  My 2nd of the season.

I hope to go 6-1 in this sim. But most of the games are on the road where my team is not great... so I could end up losing 1 or 2 more. But then again, I play poor teams (except for the Heat).

Bods must be close to ready. He processed all the cuts, signings and trades.

It's up, just some player pages left.

Went 4-1.  Beat some bad teams and lost to the pacers.

Cavs go 4-5. I'm disappointed. That trade might not have been such a good idea.

Man, what a frustrating sim...

Went 4-5 and lost to the: Hawks, Celtics, Knicks  :?

Its weird how I can beat the Nuggets in the same sim and lose to those teams

I wouldn't form all that hard of a decision yet.  Outside of the Knicks, those were all tough teams you lost to.

Bulls, 3 of your 4 losses (you went 4-5, this sim was days 71-80) were on the road.  I'd look at that more than the opponent.

Post by: BullsGM-old on April 24, 2005, 06:37:31 PM
Yeah, I'm not saying they're push overs its just that I was really expecting to beat those teams.  the was probably the sim I HAD to make ground, my sched isn't that easy from here on.

Glad that I finally found my niche. Only two losses were to the Pistons, who I might face in the first round.

The offense finally got going.

Boozer had 22, 14 and 7 against the Spurs in a 100-63 win. That was my team's best defensive game ever.

Boozer had 25, 9 and 3 against the Hornets in a 83-73 win.

Mihm dropped 24 and 16 on the Magic in a 105-98 win.

Mihm had 21 and 12 against the Pistons in a 96-81 loss. Their defense held me to 36%.

Mihm had 40 and 13 in a 129-109 romp of the Wolves. That was easily my best game of the year, and my best offensive game ever. Shot 57%.

Boozer had 24 and 15 on the Cavs in a 91-85 win.

Boozer had 21 and 10 in a 87-82 win over the Lakers.

Cassell had 20,9 and 6 and Boozer had 28 and 12 in a 100-77 win over the C's.

Despite Boozer's 38 and 9, lost to the pistons again, 105-98.

Great sim.

Now have the 6th best defense in the League. 6th best in keeping Opponents of the glass.

4th lowest Opponent's shots per game.

Easily 1st in both opponent's made 3's and taken 3's. Also 4th in 3pt percentage.

Post by: GrizzliesGM on April 24, 2005, 07:24:08 PM
My team is doing pretty well moving up to the 4th seed. But I am starting to become very impressed with my rookie Del Negro, who, while he has not contributed much this season, will next season. In 39 games he is shooting the lights out.

.544 fg%

ff% .840

3pp %    .625

My team has only had one injury all season to eddie jones for less than a week. Plus we are leading the league in the least amount of turnovers thanks to Williams.

3-5 sim, not pleased at all...Daniels hasn't been a change really...Melo is really getting better, his average 2 sims ago was 18.3 and its up to 19.5...he should improve and be a stud next season....this season's is basically a waste...I just have to wait for Houston to expire to have any kind of flexibility

Sixers have gone AWOL, I really need to get hold of him.  I don't think he's been active since Thursday

I went 6-1...  Beat the Raptors 2x, Hornets and Nuggets...  This is what i have been hoping for...  Ferry did pretty good at PF, his PPG went up but I'm not sure I like him "defensively" at PF...   I think I'll give it one more sim...  50 wins is looking more and more likely...  Hopefully the Pacers will hit a rough patch, and I can walk back into 1st in the division    ...

Also, I would be very interested in an Upgrade at PF...  anyone interested, please PM me...

best sim since i took over the pacers.

5-0

i really expected a 2-3 and this was optimistic.
i was without redd and still beat the cavs and the heat.
iggy played fantastic against bron. he almost outplayed him.
i also beat the nets, hawks (40 blowout) and again the heat.
fisher scored 32 against the heat  :?

jamison is the perfekt backup.
i like the as/to ratings of johnson 8/1....
i really like my depth. only problem is playing time for pietrus and iggy. they will have to earn their minutes but showed already a lot of talent.
i am currently at a pace for 52 wins.

Went 4-4 against some tough teams.  Beat the Clippers twice; 1-1 vs Grizzlies; 1-1 against the Jazz.  Only 1 game out of the 8th seed in the west.

Played the first 4 games without my starting pg and went 1-3.  With Parker back in the lineup I went 3-1 with the only loss to the Mavs by 5 pts.

Parker has become a monster at pg since the trade with Detroit.  He has averaged 16.3 pts, 7.7 asts, 4.8 rebs, 1.7 stls and 2.9 TO.

Now, I have to keep in mind the quality of opponents I played, and the fact that 4 of my 5 games were at home.

But this is the 1-2 punch I was hoping for.
Okafor with 23.4 ppg, 13 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.8 spg, 3.4 bpg and 46.7% shooting.  Very, Very good

Pettit with 24.2 ppg, 4.6 boards, 4 assists, 45% from the field and 47.6% from 3 pt range.

Dalembert had 3.4 blocks/game.  Battier with 2.2 steals.

Interesting pg showdown.
Payton with 15 pts, 4.8 assists, 1.4 steals to 1.2 turnovers.  more than 1 steal per turnover and 4 assists per turnovers.  Shot incredibly from the field (58%, 62% from 3pt range).  But I'd like more than 4.8 assists.

Watson with 5 pts, 4.8 assists.  Watson had 4.8 assists and played half the minutes. But had significantly less points per minute and steals per minute.  Did shoot 50%, 40% from 3 pt.

So...points and steals or assists.  Hm....

Ah well, right now Watson is giving me an incredible 16.6 minutes/game.

Defense was less than spectacular.  Gave up 92 ppg at 44% shooting.  But offense really stepped it up (98 ppg on 46% shooting, 43% from downtown).

If my team could shoot 72% from the line rather than 62% I would have scored 3 more points/game :(

Good sim.  But I'm skeptical from the teams I played.

I really wanted Watson as an FA this year...I think he can be a more than serviceable PG starting for someone in this league

Gasol is still dominant...  I tried going with the outside attack, and it reduced Gasol's touches...  Won't try that again.. lol
Gasol averaged 20 pts, 12 reb, 4 assists, and 3.3 blocks, and shot 48%, although a surprisingly bad 59% from the stripe.  He shoots his usual 70%, and I have 2 more wins this sim...

Hinrich returned to normalcy, averaging 13 points and 7.6 assists...

Foyle averaged a 10.5 reb, and 4 blocks...  he is a slightly lesser version of Ben Wallace. Shoots just as well too.. lol

Carter cut his shots down, and averaged 17 points, and 4.5 reb, 3.3 assists, and got a surprising 2.3 steals...

Radman has recovered (he started out slow last year too) and averegd 10 points and 7 rebs.

Team is starting to round into shape, I think....
23 games left and 14 at home...  the Warriors are ready to make a run...

Off topic but doesn't seserve it's own thread...Lorenzo Ellis of the SSBA must have been molded around Monta Ellis. Same size, sme abilities. High scoring, good all-around, solid potential...

This one was completely random, yes.  Any similarities are completely coincidental.

The funny thing about these sims is that my team is winning if my superstars inthe IL. While they start losing if they play..
