Sonics agree...taking a chance on resigning Gooden.

Schenk's potential made him tradeable.

So basically, I did this to go for it all, this year. It hurts to lose Gooden(again, lol), but I get some very, very good depth that is key for the playoffs. I still get a great young PG in Schenk. He and Mashburn now lead ann excellent bench. Miller will have to step in and start at PF, but he is a great big body and I think he can put up a solid 10 and 8. And now Z can fully control the paint and put up 20+. I think my team can make a big run in the playoffs.

Love it for the Sonics, nice strategy...
With the top 3 players in the draft likely to be points, and not alot of big men, they trade for a pretty decent PF.

This solves the Cavs woes at PG for a long, long time....  Schenk is a nice guy to have along side Lebron.  And Miller and Z gives you a big frontline.

The way I figured it:

Like GSW stated, the best picks in this draft are probably the point guards, and even though Schenk has great ratings, his 'D' potential makes him less valuable than any of those PGs.

Since I will have multiple top-ten picks, I will be guaranteed a chance of getting one of the good PGs in this draft, and not necessarily guaranteed a chance to get any of the better big men.

Now, if I can resign Gooden, this trade is tremendous for me.  It gives me a big-man rotation of Marques Baly, Drew Gooden and Ivan Litwack.  Add in Zarko Cabarkaba, Jacquez Collier and four top-ten picks, and there is a very nice young squad.

Plus, I will still have enough to offer a max-type contract and address any specific needs in FA.

Look out for the Sonics....if Gooden stays along.

Look out Drew Gooden...you are the next Sonic on the continuous Sonic block!

Drew Gooden on the block? Me interested. Pretty fair deal across to board. Gooden being a FA, he might not have resigned, so Cavs got something good for him.

As long as Schenk's ratings don't go down, just stay where they're at now, he'll be a great PG. And he's my backup... 8)

I still can't believe that I drafted Litwack for Juan Cunningham. I thought Litwack would be a solid player already this season, but in TC he drops two ratings. With his A potential. Go figure. And Cunningham goes up 3 ratings, and turns out to be a beast. He would be the perfect backup at PF/C. Damn, that was one bad move made by me...

WOW, I didn't even notice Cunningham this season.  He was a low first round pick, and hes averaging 19/11

True, but he's shooting 43% and C+ defense.

IMO, if the defense doesn't improve, he'd probably be a 6th man.
