SSBA

Is there any update or news on the off season proceedings? I know its only been a couple of days since the end of the season, but it seems like we've been marred in delays and little to no communication. If time is needed cool, totally understandable. It just scares me a little when there is no activity for a couple of days. If anyone has any info, please share it here for the rest of us. I would hate for this league to fold, I've been a part of this since 2004 in the old league, and I would love to see this continue.

Tomorrow evening i'm at home, so that would be a good time to get the new draft file up - i need the current league file first - and publish the schedule.

I'm sure we can talk about the extension into the draft this time, to save some time.

Sorry guys, this was partly my fault.  I hadn't noticed the PM's Nets has been sending me asking for how to proceed with resignings etc, and didn't have my profile setup to email me upon receipt of a new PM.

I've changed my profile to alert me when I get a pm.  generally, it's better to shoot me an email (derek.bodner@phillyarena.com) then send me a PM.

I saw it. Not very funny. I was a big fan of the ali g show back in the day but bruno was my least favorite character and I thought he was worse on the movie than on the show.

Have you simmed in SSBA before? Easy enough once you do it once or twice.

Talk with Derek about how to do the extensions - there's an excel file (that I no longer have) that gets uploaded somehow (I can't recall). If you have any other questions, he's the guy.

No one will have any objections to anyone doing it, let alone a long-time trusted member like the HornetsGM.

Not exactly sure what the implications would be for this thing but iirc tom did mention, on on his posts on djsl regarding the possible resuCitation of the league djsl is that it could happen after a long (3 weeks) vacation. Im not exactly sure if this is the hiatus he is referring to. But i think it makes sense because tom usually goes on vacation surprisingly... He posts dcs on other leagues from time to time, rbsl. And still checks the ssba during vacation... Which still happens on a limted basis tho..

I hope tom tells us whats going on.. Really sad to see a commish like him go MIA

I can take over on an interim basis for however long it takes Tom to return, if he wants to return. I've never simmed before, but I'm familiar with FBB (used to have a crack and messed around with it). There's the Commissioner's Guide on the rules page, so I can use that. If I have additional questions then I'll ask them.

Once I get everything I need (Magic sent me the crack -- I'll need to be approved for admin status and the save file), I will start simming.

guys, i'm sorry for the time i took off. this isn't the easiest time right now, and i needed some time to get my life in order. Still working on that, and i'd appreciate if you give me another day or two.

I plan to get up resignings and the draft file this weekend. But I will stop making promises (that I really meant, but couldn't keep) so don't be disappointed if it's a few more days with being mostly off for me.

We really respect what you're going through Tom. And definitely.. You have all our support!  :tup:

It's just that we would appreciate if you could give us some notice and not left some GMs into confusion on the real state of this sim league. Because the word "dead" and "SSBA" don't mix well in any kind of sentence. :D

I know that you're going through a hard time. I suggest you let someone sim for a season or atleast for a month while you take some time off while you get your life back on track. I'm sure everybody would want you back as the commish/simmer in this league once you're ready to do the job. But if you're sure that you're ready I don't think anyone has an objection as you being the simmer. Especially after all the quality sims you've provided for us through this years. :D

I was wondering why HornetsGM halted his decision in taking over the league, now that TOM seems to gone MiA again. I'm sure he'd be OK with someone taking over for now, while he is getting his life back on track.
