Hey guys.  I'm going to be doing todays sim right at 5 pm, so try to get your dc's in by 4:30 just to make sure I don't miss it.  Comcast has been down often lately (all day again yesterday), so I want to make sure I do this before I leave work, just in case it's not working when I get home (then you'd have to wait until tomorrow.

Besides, there's nothing like getting paid to do ssba ;)

not really a tough sim for me... Pistons and wiz are the only tough team i'll be facing... but I'd like to see how my team performs... I predict a 2 loss sim for me... :D

Hope for some improvement after the trade.

Kenyon goes right into the fire.  Start the sim with 5 straight road games, and fiinish with 3 home contests.  After this sim, I'll have played 23 on the road against only 16 home games.  Hopefully, I can keep my unbeaten streak at the Pepsi Center alive.

I play six games(3 home, 3 away)...  Hoping for a good sim, even though i know i will need to make some adjustments with my newly acquired players...  I think by the next sim, i should be winning a majority of my games...  I think I will go 4-2 on this one...  My one big game is against the Hornets...

Oooh, almost forgot, we do the all-star game today.

Sweet. Although I have no chnace of having an all-stars, or rookie game players.

I won't have any all-stars because last season Strom was averaging 22 and 12 at the all-star break...i might have a rookie participant in Tanner but Ferry and Griffin might get the notch over Tanner for the game

East Starters: Ferry, ???PF???, Terpening, Pettit, Mercer
MVP = Ferry


I have no idea about the regular A.S. Game...

yea the east should dominate the rookie game...the all-star game I think the east should win too with Shaq, TD, Amare and Ferry inside

I don't want to get into telling people how to run their teams or anything, but can't Sixers at least try to have people play the proper position?  This will skew things in favor of EC opponents, especially those in the Atlantic, which affects the whole league, IMO.  I mean, this would never happen in real life.  A team may decide to tank, but usually by playing young guys or something like that.

I agreed, why are AI and Duncan on the IR?

Why are the Sixers only 17-16 with those 2 superstars in lineup? I'm not going to condone tanking, because that is what it appears the Sixers are doing, but wouldn't it be a shock to you guys if that lineup won? And maybe that is exactly what he is going for.

I've finally found my groove, expect a push from the Bulls.

Griffin and Mercer played AMAZING and I beat the Mavs, the Clippers, the Sixers and the Hornets.  All awesome teams.

I lost by one to the Cavs, overall went 4-2 when I was expecting to go 1-5.

Well, I guess this was kind of a calm before the storm type sim for me. Only 4 games. I'm ok with going 1-3.

Now, it happens hardcore. The next 2 sims are make or break for me.

Deng came into his own. Scored 19, 9, and 8 before having to leave the 8 pt game after playing only 24 mins. He's out for the next 6.

I can't score worth a damn. I think Ellis is going to have to get some touches.

Tanking, while not against the rules, is really weak...

Unfortunately we don't have the real life repercussions of lost profits, unhappy owners and dwindling game attendance.
Although it's not illegal, it's really annoying, and people are right to be angry about it.

He went 1-2. Not terrible. Maybe he wanted to rest his big guns.

There's no reason to rest anyone in this league. We all know what's going on, why skirt the issue?

5-0!  Includes victories over the Rockets, Mavs (held to 61 points) and Heat.  Averaged 97 ppg on 46.3% shooting.

I guess adding a couple scorers to my team was the right formula.  Joe Smith came out strong with two straight player of the game awards.

Tanner was a beast this sim, although i only went 2-4...Melo p layed well and Strom got a few player of the games, it was an optimistic sim from the fact that Tanner performed very very well, I'm looking forward to seeing what Tanner will do in future sims

Ilgauskas got injured and missed 2 1/2 games but the Cavs still kicked ass with 5-0! And over the 5 games, held opponents to 79 PPG. The defense is finally starting to come together. Watch out for Cleveland this 2nd half of the season.

B-Diddy and Hughes both made the all-star team, and Josh Childress made the sophomore AS team. Pretty happy with that...

I changed up my strategy a few sims ago and it really came back to bite me in this sim. I think I lost 8 in a row, or something like that. I still have the best defense in the league though (based on opp ppg)  :D

Darn it, Dirk got hurt.

Tanner had double-double's in 5 of 6 games...he was rebound away one game, I'm really pleased with how he has played lately

Anyway, big changes to my DC next week, moving the offense focus to balanced and making Sam Cassell an option for the first time this year.

Anyone I'm talking trade with right now, I might have to hold off talks until the next sim.  I want to see how my team does with the same settings next sim as this one was very encouraging.

Kirk Snyder is the man, he was MVP in the rook vs soph game on 9 for 10 shooting, 2 for 2 on 3pts and 2 for 2 on fts.  Overall 22pts 3rebs and 4ast.  Could be my starting sg next year if he improves his D.

lol... I had a 4-2 sim which I predicted earlier on this thread.. not bad of a sim for me... Kandi was doing so great.. Kandi and Woods dominated one game for me, with Dwight in foul trouble...

Kandi's 1st game was 20 and 15.. which is pretty good for me...

against the Knicks Woods and Kandi has 18pts and 15 rebounds, 17pts, 18rebounds respectively..

lol at Michael Stewart getting 30pts as a pg...

the sixers won against the wizards... in which the sixers already had a total tank lineup

not to mention that Stewart is already averaging almost as good as Duncan't stats...  not a bad signing after all :D

It's actually a very interesting idea. Placing a big man at point provides ample scoring oppurtunites. I might try BOozer at the point at some point this year.

Guys, he may have been a "beast", but he didn't distribute the ball at all.  I wouldn't say he did good at pg.

You asked how he could do that with F+ handles.  Well, any of his success had nothing to do with handles, only scoring and rebounding.

Yeha, but look at the scoring. Obviously, defending PG's had to try and D him up.

I went 4-2, as expected...  Ferry and Terp both made the Rookie team, and Ferry made the All-Star team...  And Ferry won his 2nd Rookie of the Month Award...  I'm thinking about moving him to my 2nd option though...  I want to see what Terpening can do...  His average is up over 16 ppg...  And last but not least, Nash gets the injury bug again...  He's out for 9 days and the same for Devean George...  Parker did decent as Nash's replacement so I'm not too worried(I also have McInnis)...

On to the next sim...  I play 7 games and none of those are against a team under .500!!!  I play the @Hornets, @Warriors, Nets, Raptors, Clippers, 76ers and Kings...  I have 3 open days, they could have tossed in the Rockets, Mavs and Heat(but i guess the program wanted to be nice  :?  )...  This is gonna be tough, especially without Nash...  If I win 4 games I will be very surprised...

The reason why my team did play poorly on defense was because i did switch my trap and press, from often, to never. It is also the reason why ricky davis and company did poorly on the steals category.

And btw, stewart did a solid job in defense. In the game vs the bulls, he did shut down mercer with a 7 out of 21 shooting and speedy claxton with a 3 out of 10 shooting, a total of 10 out of 31 shooting from the PG position.

yeah.. its kinda weird. Especially the fact that the rookies did get the vote over the veterans.

He's the next Magic Johnson..  8)

Boozer though 23/11/3 on 47% shooting was also all-star worthy.

Well, Pau Gasol led the Warriors to victory against his former team, scoring 39 pts and pulling down 13 rebounds, along with 6 assists...

BTW, Michael Stewart's defense went down from a B+ to a C on his positional change from C to PG, just an fyi.

Not exactly our greatest week, but for the most part it was people who generally don't miss.

Very good Sim for Okafor.  21.2 pts, 13.8 boards, 3.6 assists, 2.2 blocks, 43.5% from the field.

Still not great shooting, but better.  Needs to hit his damned free throws though.  got 10.2 attempts a game...problem is he shot shaq-like.

He's been an absolute beast on the boards since being moved to c, and his points are up.  I'm liking that change.  14.2 boards/game since he moved to C, very good.  8 out of 11 games he's had 15 or more boards :) .  Also putting up 21.5 pts, shooting 43%.  All up from when at pf.

Okafor and Dalembert combined for 23.8 boards and 5.6 blocks :)

My offense STRUGGLED.  82.2 ppg on 41.3% shooting.  I'm not worried.  Okafor had his best sim and Pettit shot 52%.  My role players simply couldn't throw the ball into the atlantic.  But getting Okafor on track made me optimistic.

Defense was great (87 ppg, 43% shooting).

Slow back my to's and hit my open shots and I'm confident.

Played exactly 41 ppg, on pace for 54 wins, next sim I'll have drastically improved my bench.  I'm excited.

Well, Gasol averaged 25 ppg, 11.5 reb, 4 assist, 2.4 blocks, and went to the line 9 times a game(at a 79% clip), on 42% from the field.  Played some great defensive teams though, so that FG% should get better.

Carter averaged 25 ppg, 6.8 reb and 3 assists on 54% field, 47% from 3.  Moved him to a third option, and he shot very, very well.

Only problem was Hinrich this sim..
Averaged 6.4 points, 8 assists, 4 reb on 40% shooting...
I had just moved Hinrich back to my 2nd option, and it did not work well, accept for the assists.  Going to actually try him as a primary option...  He never looks for his own shot, so maybe this will get him to take 3-4 more shots per game...  He is still shooting 51% from the field overall.

Averaged 94 ppg, and gave up 91.4 ppg... As a team, shot 44% from the field, and a blazing 43% from 3.  Have a feeling having a great passer like Gasol in the post is really helping my outside shooters..

i can tell you a thing or two about having a great passer. O´neal avg.
something like 28pts, 14 rb and 4as with 3blk. I really hope he will be this seasons MVP.
Artest is shooting over 50% from 3 and so on.
As long as o´neal isn´t getting in foul trouble i will be alway in the game.
Sadly my only loss in this sim was another 2 point loss. Have to give credit to the clippers. Chandler played almost the entire game and killed me. the clippers also shot about 85% as a team from the line.

Yeah, Amare's 28.3ppg/10.3rpg/2apg/1.3spg/2bpg/.528fg% definately makes him unworthy for all-star consideration.  :roll:

OK, Wow...  The Sonics have at least 3 and maybe 4 lottery picks in the upcoming draft...   :shock:

I doubt it will be four (warriors will make the playoffs), but I do expect to have something like the first, third and eighth pick or so.

I'd be happy with that.

About that game... it would have liked to be there!  :D  It was a great game between to very good teams. The battle between Brand and O'Neal must have been huge!

Actually, let's say the Hawks had not lost Tanner for 9-10 games, which began an 11 game losing streak...  If they go 4-5 in those games with Tanner, their current record of 14-25 is then  is now 18-21...  Add to that the fact that Daniels is a HUGE upgrade over TJ Ford, and you are looking at a team that is at least a 0.500 team...
