Question:

Is this going to take over for the entirety of the sim from now on?

I love the fact that there are much more players and you actually have to scout for the next big thing!

These are the players for the 2011 draft.  At the beginning of next season (the 2010 season), they will be converted into the draft preview we've been using in the past (except will now have college stats filled in).

If you want, you can completely ignore this section.  you won't be as informed come draft time, but you can.

No, that would take me far too long.

But, if I understand correctly, there is no guarantee that some player that you follow all season will end up in the actual FBB draft?  Is this correct?

So if I want to wait until you actually import the draft class into FBB then the college ratings will no longer be available.  Only the college stats.  Is this correct?

I will keep a copy of the college stats online so you can go more in depth at draft time.

And no, there is no guarantee a player will be in the draft.  Any underclassmen who declares early (high school and college) will definitely be in the draft.  Seniors it is a bit of a question mark.  I wouldn't scout non-major college players too heavily until the official list comes out.  That center for Iona probably won't make it.

Alright guys, here's the deal.

I would REALLY prefer to have boxscores up on the NCAA draft previews.  However, this takes up space.  A lot.  Boxscores alone take up 100 mb's of space, with the entire draft taking up over 200 mb's.

Since we will be having 2 years worth of drafts up at all times after this year (for the current preview and 2 years previews), that would mean 400 mb's of storage space on my server, + the space required for the rest of SSBA, + space required for phillyarena.

I can't afford to use up a gig of space on my server for this project.

But I REALLY want boxscores.  If I'm looking at a prospect, i want to see how he did against other good schools and other top prospects.  I think it adds that much more to the scouting.

So...here's what I want to do.  Run the college sim in 3 sims (November/December after sim 2, January/February after sim 4, March/April after sim 6).  This would then give you 4 sims until the trade deadline where you'll know the exact eligible players.  More than enough time to make decisions on whether to trade or keep a draft pick, and more than enough time to scout.

I don't think that's an issue at all.

What might be an issue is whether or not you're willing to blow up the current draft preview.  IIRC, no top picks have been traded since sim training camp (when the draft preview was put up).  However, if someone has a real problem with me doing away with what's currently listed as the draft preview, I will withhold using the college drafting portion until next SSBA year.

So, if you have a problem, speak up.

No problems here...  This next draft for both the college version and the regular version both look pretty strong, imo.

Depending upon how some of the college talents translate into the pro game...  that is a new and interesting twist.

I know I doubt very much I will be using the box scores...
