Here is an interesting question...
As 2 two way trades, Barry cannot be grouped...  but what if the trade is a 3 way trade, shouldn't it work then?
Or, doesn't the imaginary 48 hour rule exist? (the one that allows a player to be traded again within 24-48 hours of being traded, no grouping restrictions)  Never been quite sure if that rule was true or not, actually..

We have never done 3 way trades, so I am not sure of the Commish's poilicy on them. I know that the game itself does not allow for three way trades, so the 60 day rule would have to be manually waived (which is possible.)

I don't see any policy reason why we shouldn't allow trades to go down like they do in real life, but I'm not sure of the technical rules.

It's up to the big guy; he knows the rules and how he wants to run things.

I checked.. the imaginary 48 hours rule is for sign and trades, not for actual trades.... Darn...

We will have to wait for Nets to make a decision on this one....

The reason I'm agreeing to this trade is because Sheed and Van Horn are very similar ratings wise, and with Van Horn's free agent status upcoming I believe that the 9 million Sheed's making is about what Van Horn will make or less on the market, especially given the # of teams with considerable cap space.

Obviously to make up the cap difference I want to take on expiring contracts because if this trade went down I'd have about 11 million in space to spend on free agents.  Claxton's got another year at 3 million on it, so I don't exactly want to bite that bullet if I can avoid it because that would severely impede my likely already small chances at signing a top free agent.

But if the commish won't waive whatever necessary rules to enact the 3 way trade and I have to make it Barry for Claxton/Chaney, so be it.

It's entirely up to the Commish, and I understand if he declines this entire deal.

As two separate deals, it doesn't work.  by just a little margin, but it still doesn't work.

However, as an entire deal, it does.

It's up to the big guy.

Sorry for all of the confusion.

Chaney has already been traded, sadly...

But, to make the deal work, it could be Speedy/Hart/Drejer for Barry, and I will add two 2nd round picks (2006 & 2008) going to the Bucks...

Hart and Drejer were signed off waivers, so they should be tradeable...

That is, if the three way does not work according to the commish.

Of course, I am also willing to give Barry a $100,000 raise, which would solve the problem too... lol

But, as a three way, the salaries do match...

Bucks send
KVH and Santiago - 14.487 mill and 0.55 million = 15.037 million
Bucks receive
Uncle Cliff and Sheed - 9.12 mil and 5.28 mill = 14.40 million

Supersonics send
Wallace and Barry - 9.12mil + 4.5 mil = 14.62 million
Supersonics receive
KVH - 14.5 million

Warriors send
Uncle Cliffy - 5.28 million
Warriors receive
Barry and Santiago - 4.5 mil and 0.55 million = 5.05 million

Everyone gets back the amount of salary they send out within 5%.

And this is a true three way trade.  Just wanted to make it easier to see how it works.

i don't understand how a 3-way could be worked???  In the program there is no possible way to do it...  only way it would work is with separate trades and the 60 rule being waived...  Which in all honesty i don't think its fair to the rest of the GM's that didn't make trades due to the rule...  just my 2 cents...

Since it works as a 3 way, and would have worked in the real world, I will allow Santiago to combined with Barry and ignore the 60 day rule.

Had you not pointed it out that the salaries matched up when combined, I wouldn't have allowed it.

In fact, in the NBA it would have worked as submitted the first time.  I can't do that, because the program doesn't have the built in capacity, but I will allow Santiago to be included with Barry as a means of bypassing the restrictions.
