Nice job, Warriors.  Heckuva steal.

Now you have your final wing player you've been working out, and basically gave up 3 backups (all 3 would have been on the bench with pierce here) and a bad pick.

If there's one team that might beat the Jazz next year, I think it might be the Warriors, especially with the uncertainty of the Mavs.

Peirce has a huge contract, but this is a fantastic trade for the Warriors.

Hoffa
Swift
Peirce
Iggy
Hinrich

Thanks... Pierce is an incredible addition for me.
Probably gives the Warriors a top 3 offense now.  Pierce will likely be a 3rd option behind Araujo and Hinrich, and hopefully it will keep his TO's down.  And he is an excellent defender.
Swift is now probably the best non-option player in the league now...

Only scary part is now my team is dependent upon Iggy at the SG spot...  But he is a better defender then his C+ shows him to be....

Alright, first off let me say that I don't expect to win right away after I did this trade.  I didn't make this trade so I could win right away.  My team looked good on paper, but it just wasn't working out.  If I was a contending team, I would have gladly resigned Pierce, but I feel I can't afford that at this point.

I got 3 players who are not great but solid.  Hinkle could easily be a 'A' defender next season and hopefully he can get his offense up to B+.  Hinkle played pretty solid last season, he's a gert rebounder and a good defender (2 spg, with 44 opp FG% I believe).  Obviously he's a great shooter as well, his only concern at this point are the turnovers but anything is an improvement after Pierce in the TO department.

Hedo put up great numbers when he was given time.  In '06 and '07 he put up around 11/5/3 with 1.3 spg on good percentages.  He has B+ offense and A- defense.  Jaric hasn't played well with the Warriors but in his first season with me, he averaged 8/4/4 with 1.7 spg as a SG.  His ratings have improved since then and I feel he can step in nicely in the backup SG/PG role.

Also the second rounder (2nd overall) I aqquired has more value with the new 2nd rounder rules, its basically a late first rounder.  A future first can't hurt either.

If things don't work out, all their contracts expire fairly quickly, Hinkle and Hedo in 2 years and Jaric next year.  So I'll have some cap to re tool.  I got the 11th overall pick this year, hopefully that combined with a good TC will put me in the right direction of re-building

Even though Jaric has shot badly, he has always been great for my team...
Hinkle's ability to play SG and SF should be quite handy, and Hedo is a good starting SF...  Instantly gives the Bulls a full, very good starting 5, and still with the 11th pick player to add, as well as 6 mill in cap space.

I know Pierce has a huge contract, but with Araujo's max, Hinrich's max, and swift 7 million, cap space is a pipe dream for me in the forseeable future.

I probably have about 3 years with Pierce to win a championship....

Well, I can just about guarantee that Pierce will be going head on with McGrady when they next meet in the playoffs...  Unless Tracy is scared  Razz

Yeah, Pierce is a VERY underrated defender.  Probably because people either think of injuries, scoring, or turnovers when they think of him.

small forwards shot only 42.9%, 32.5% from 3 pt range against the bulls last year.

Neither of the wing positions on the warriors came close to that last year.

In fact, both sg's and sf's shot over 40% from 3 pt range last year against the warriors.  And both shot 45% from the field.   In fact, those were the 2 highest scoring positions against the warriors last year.

Putting my weaknesses out there for all to see...  Oh Dabods, you are killing me... lol

You are absolutely right.  Turk did not defend the three well, Cardinal sure is not going to, and Hinkle was a good ball thief, but his man-to-man defense still needs some work.

Pierce is an excellent 3 pt defender...  And if he can maintain that defense, while my team will never be an elite defense, the Warriors can at least be above average.

Gosh, without Pierce, the Sonic swingmen would be able to rain down three's all day long on me....
