Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: ClippersGM-old on April 08, 2005, 08:29:46 PM
I know this is early, but people were already discussing the next sim in the 'sim 1 discussion' thread. So I decided to start this one.

I am really looking forward to the next sim. I am anxious to see if my team can play the same game against teams like Dallas and New Jersey. If they can... this young squad may be developping faster than I thought they would.

Los Angeles Clippers... an offensive powerhouse???

ps: I hope I can change the ??? into !!! in a couple sims from now.

Expect a big move from the Raptors too.

Hmm. Maybe Seattle and Toronto could hook up for something?

i am not sure if its the right place to talk about but i think dabods (NETS GM) should also post his depth chart and focus. this is nothing personal i am only trying to get a feeling what this settings are all about and his are the most i am interrested in because we build a similar team.

And I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk about, but I have sent you 3 straight PM's, and you haven't replied to any of them, which kinda pisses me off, after I accepted the offer you sent me.

yea i didn´t do it on purpose.
i didn´t have any time yesterday to write you back. i will apologize here and hope you will accept it.

my prediction for the next sim is a hopefull 5-3
but more realistic is a 4-4 since i will play most of the top teams awy like raps, jazz, min and sixers.

I honestly can't believe I went 0-6. With THIS team.

Vince will be traded.

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: NetsGM on April 10, 2005, 06:19:38 PM
Last year you tank and you almost win 50 games.

This year you assemble a team of all-stars and you're winning at a 39% clip.

Go figure.

Hawks beat me twice this sim.  Their new team looks good.  Unfinished, but good.

Pettit came down to earth a little (still putting up 26/6/4.3 on good percentages (46/86/45).  But not the 29 pts he was putting up after one sim.

Okafor really struggled this sim.

Couldn't ask for more from Sammy or Daniels though.

Post by: CavsGM on April 10, 2005, 06:19:56 PM
So 4-3. Not too bad. Z went back to kicking as with a couple huge games. James had a triple double. My big three is playing very well. Just a slight improvement at PG. All I need.

Post by: HawksGM on April 10, 2005, 06:20:33 PM
I went 5-2...for some reason everything but my roster pages are showing up so I can't see how individuals did but I'm pleased with a 5-2 sim

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: RaptorsGM on April 10, 2005, 06:20:59 PM
:) It just doesn't make sense.

Figure this one out - I trade Finley (B defense) for Christie (A defense) And my opponet's PPG goes from 97 to 101.

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: NetsGM on April 10, 2005, 06:24:49 PM
I lead the league in blocks, and am 2nd in steals :)

2nd in forcing turnovers, 4th in opponents fg%, 5th in opponents 3pt%.  3rd in rebounding.

They score a bit on me (8th), but that's inflated because of my pace.

Not bad defensively.

My offense isn't bad, but right now it's average.  It needs to catch up with my defense.

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: BullsGM-old on April 10, 2005, 06:28:20 PM
My defense is god awful...

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: RaptorsGM on April 10, 2005, 06:29:11 PM
I honestly think I have a team that is better than 94.7ppg. I'm gonna have to slow the pace down again. And go back inside.

Vince WILL be traded before next sim. 100% sure of it.

Damn, I'm dumbfounded.

Talk about struggling on the road.

8-1 at home.  3-6 on the road.

I really think youth affects road record.

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: GoldenStateGM on April 10, 2005, 06:46:22 PM
Absolutely thrilled with this sim...  My team is playing better then expected.  14 games played, only 4 at home, and a 9-5 record.
Also leading the league in rebounding by over one rebound per game, and 3rd in defensive fg%.
Hinrich recovered from a not so great first sim, and is now shooting 54% from the field
Phillip Meyers has been a perfect back-up PG/SG...

this is just pathetic. mike bibby went down and i've lost 3 in a row. this is horrible i really don't know what to do with this team. this sim is so unlogical

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: HornetsGM on April 10, 2005, 06:58:43 PM
I'm very happy with the last sim. I knew that the first sim would be tough for me b/c I had 6 out of 7 games away from home. I didn't expect this much of a jump though...

B-Diddy, Magloire and Hughes are playing awesome for me.

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: BullsGM-old on April 10, 2005, 07:00:00 PM
Is it just me, or are our team roster pages not updated?  It still says I'm 3-6 even though I'm 6-10 and the stats are old

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: HawksGM on April 10, 2005, 07:05:57 PM
Bulls: mine was like that but I hit refresh on my individual team page and it updated for me...

As for the sim, Strom played very well and Melo was around 18pts in every game which is exactly what I need from him, he also shot very well from 3...Tanner didn't play too well this sim and in the last game went down and is out for 17 days, he was solid but nothing to get too excited over...I'm very pleased in my first sim since the Carmelo trade, still some pieces missing but it was an optimistic sim...btw Predrag Drobnjak had 15 boards in the game Tanner got hurt and he's not available to play

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: SpursGM-old on April 10, 2005, 07:07:33 PM
About what I expected from this sim: 3-7.  Lost a close one to the Nets at home.  Lost to Mavs, Clips, Rockets...all on the road.  Ginobili, due to migraines, missed the last 4 games.  Now I'm down my top TWO swing players.

Title: Sim 2 discussion
Post by: NetsGM on April 10, 2005, 07:09:50 PM
I guess I can't complain about 11-7 when I've already played 9 games on the road, but dang, they need to learn to win on the road.

Dang, OKafor really struggled.

16.1 pts, 10.9 boards, 2.6 blocks for this sim aren't terrible, but he shot 36.9% from the field, 60.3% from the line.  And had more to's than assists.

He played 2 really nice games at home (20/13 and 30/18 ), but on the road really struggled (shooting nights of 2-15, 6-17, etc.  In fact, in 5 of 6 road games this sim he shot less than 50%).

Unacceptable.

Pettit didn't do as bad, but still played good.  This sim he put up 24 ppg, 6.5 boards, 3.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and made 2 three's/game.  Shot a little poorly (43.5, 88.4 ft, 37 3 pt), but not bad.  Did have turnover problems.

Dalembert was a model of consistency.  Outside of that one game where he fouled out in 19 minutes he put up 12 pts, 12.25 boards, 3.75 blocks.  That's terrific.

Esch had a 12 pt, 20 rebound game

Still can't ask more from Daniels.  16.6 pts, 6.6 assists to 1.6 to's.  could shoot a little better from downtown (31%), but other than that everything's great.

Hoped for a little more from Battier offensively.  Not a big issue since Daniels stepped up, but a little disappointing nonetheless.  But then again, he only got 5 shots/game this sim.

Not to upset with my defense this sim (95 ppg on 44% shooting, 28% from downtown isn't great, but not terrible).  But offensively I slipped up (95 ppg on 42% shooting, 33% from downtown).  Turned the ball over too much as well (nearly 16 times/game).

Hoping that's just an anomaly from playing so many games, especially playing 6 road games this sim.

Z had games of; 29/17/6, 20/19, 25/14/6, 40/13. Not bad at all. Won three of the last four. The offense hasn't been consistent enough, though.

0-6. Wow.

Boozer's the best producer on my team, by far. 21.2ppg, 10.7rpg. Mihm's production has dropped drastically.

Mihm is only shooting 36%, as a C! And Cassell, at 32% is very disappointing.

But I have to remain optimstic with this team as good as it looks on paper. And after I trade Vince (Who saw a nice increase in stats), I'll have a pretty damn good team.

probably about the same as when my team went 4-5.

Expect them to improve offensively, always be less than stellar defensively, and win 45-50 games.

Picture me rollin... Clips do!

Real test is next sim. Nuggets twice, Nets, Pistons, Bulls and Kings.

But I played most of my games at home. I think with my young core... I will start losing when I hit the road!

Brand is a beast!

I was really surprised to see some of the results from other teams! Strange things going on.

WHOO Rockets jsut exploded!

Went 5-1 and was gunning on everyone! Finley could well be the missing piece, well apart from a PF.

The trade with the Raptors could well make me a serious contender this year!

I have to expect higher than 50 wins. I think I improved everything this offseason, and I won 50 last year.

But yeah, I'm going to do what I always do - pull a blockbuster :)

very disappointing sim for me... I had a 3-3 record compared to a 2-5 last sim... I had a 68pts performance against the bucks.. but the bright side was that some of my players stepped up... Battie had to pick up the slacks left by the injuries my key players had...

but I beat the defending champs by 2..

Damn, I got torn up inside, where my defensive ratings are A-, B+ for starters, and A- for my primary backup.

Of the 6 games I lost, 5 of them came when an opposing C or PF led in scoring.

I have to be pleased with this sim...  I went 6-2, 4 of them were without Steve Nash(i went 3-1 in those games)!!!  Jeff McInnis played amazing...  He had games of 13/10/8, 23/15/6, 18/10/5, 5/10/3...  What more can you ask of from your back-up PG???

In other news, Ferry had another Great sim...  Against the Suns he dropped 40/15!!!  For a Rookie, his statline is just crazy  27.3 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.6 spg, 1.2 bpg, 2.1 topg, 48.4 FG%, 75.0 FT%...  I still want to see that Rebounding average to move up a bit more...

Next sim will be the real test...  8 games, 7 on the road including games @ Dallas, Houston, LA Clips...  I will be more than happy to go 4-4...

Also, Steve Nash could "possibly"(and i stress possibly) be on the block...  I am willing to look at any offers...

I have to be pleased with this sim... I went 5-3, 2 lost against Pistons,Jazz with 2 points
O´neal is playing insane. At the moment he should be the clear MVP. Only KG is near his stats but his team is loosing.
o´Neal´s stats for the last sim:
35,4 pts 11,9 rb 3,5 as and 2,5 blk
Redd is shooting real well. i am still not sold but i will keep improving  :D
i was a little worried that redd will destroy the chemistry and i did give up too much but at the moment he is only scoring less will shooting the same % and o´neal and artest stayed or improved their stats.

next sim should be a 4-1 (3 games away).
i hope i will finish this road trip fine. Out of my first 22 gms i played 14 away against real good comp.
