I agree...I get a big man, and a chance to give a starting spot to Ronald Murray.

Snow will probably step in and start at PG

Well I got rid of a hideous contract. Allen is a huge addition, his ratings are great. Arguably the best backcourt in the league? And if I get the FA I hope I get, my team should have a very nice upcoming season. Oh yeah, still need a SF...

Off the top of my head that is probably the best backcourt in the leage...it's a good deal for both sides, each team gets what they want, good deal all around

It looks like a steal for the cavs, correct me if i'm wrong.. :D

But i thought that the cavs got the best player in the deal in ray allen, probably a top 5 sg in the league. And they got the chance to dump eric snows' contract.

Although, it fits the sonics' team needs at that point of time. I dont think that its a good move for them. Im never a fan of trading talents for team needs..

I love if for the cavs.

im with sixersGM here...its a steal for the cavs...Ilgauskas can't cover the production of ray allen...hmm....the only reason i can think of is that ray allen is expiring and sonics was afraid that he couldnt resign him or wont resign next season...or maybe im wrong...does ray have bird years?..cleve got a lot of expring and is under the cap...he can resign allen next season..still...i think cleveland got the better end of the deal here.... :D

Both Big Z and Ray have expiring contracts. I dont think that both teams traded their max player based on their contract situations, but they traded them because of their team needs. Cavs felt that a frontcourt of bron-allen would blow away teams. While sonics felt that Big Z would give give the sonics enough leverage on their weak frontcourt.

I think the Sonics thought that they could semi-reasonably replace Ray's production with Murray, and wanted to use their biggest trade chip to fill in holes elsewhere.

I'd still put bron and Ray ray ahead of them. Bron and ray ray can both give you 20+ppg, 5.+rpg, 5.+apg each. Both are very good scorers and defenders.

And peja is not a SG.

It certainly looks like we're talking about 1 and 2 here though, whichever way you look at it.

All I know is that I have Big Z and Big Ben in my frontcourt with Sheed playing the SF.

Pretty good front line.

Only sheed will probably get torn up on the defensive end. Most SF's will be too quick for him.

Check out that A- defense that Sheed owns.

Ratings change after positonal changes.

A- defense at PF. According to your logic, if i were to move kobe bryant to center and have him play defense against a center he would be a good defender? Yup get my point now?

He is already changed to the SF (A- defense)

his ratings stay the same when he switches position.

If i were to switch kobe to center he would still have that A- defense rating that doesnt change.

Not true.  Ratings can (and do) change when you change a position.  And it displays differently as well.

For example, I just loaded the save file.  Changed Kobe's position from SG to C.  His defense went from an A- to a C+ just from changing position.

The program DOES take into account position when displaying ratings.

Then I am wrong I had a version from like a year or so ago and it did not do that. My bad sonicsgm.

Not a problem.  I didn't think they changed before, I probably just figured it out in the past 2 weeks.

Well, in real life, Sheed plays both forward positions.  Kobe does not play center.

True to reality changes will not see much of a change.  Drastic ones (Zydrunas at point, Kobe at Center, Boykins at PF) will drastically alter the ratings.
