Thrilled to bring Yao into the mix.  Not sure how long he will stick around, but I am hoping it is for at least a few years.

The Hornets displeasure is quite understandable.

Since either Yao was one of the biggest disappointments in this league for HornetsGM - i mean 8 MVPs and ONE title, are you kidding me - or the HornetsGM are the biggest disappointment for Yao - for failing to surround the best player in the league for a decade with a team to consistently win it all  ...

I'm not displeased with Yao, nor do I think he would be displeased with me. I have my title, he has his. Where's yours?

What the hell do you think I gave up for Yao, peanuts? No, getting Yao required me to give up all of my tradeable assets. Characterizing me as "failing" is stupid and insulting. It's like me calling you a failure for not being able to beat the Sonics' deal in this trade.

Where is your title? Why haven't you made diamonds out of ashes?

Anyways, Yao brings a great presence to the Northwest, and will pair very well with English once I resign him.

This will also allow me to bring either Hubbard or Cartwright off the bench, giving me plenty of flexibility and depth up front.

I'm not calling YOU a failure, I call Yao a failure. Dirk singlehandingly carried the Sonics to a title, and later the Warriors, when both teams had little otherwise, let alone a star. Yao could NEVER do it on his own. He needed Tracy's ancient body to get his ring. A bit unimpressive when you're the perennial MVP, like 9 times in 10 years.

I don't know if you see it otherwise ...

And again, I tried very hard to get a star like Yao, Tracy, Dirk, Marion, Hoffa when they still had something left in the tank, but was never fortunate enough to complete a deal, mostly because nobody wanted my guys, a star-less team I had to overachieve year after year to make the playoffs, who made my team winning but just not enough and my picks bad, just a bit too much.

No diamonds escaped from these ashes but guys who can be proud of their achievements.
Cool

I realize there is a logical disjunct there ("or"), but the suggestion was enough to annoy me.

That was probably too much "unexplained sarcarsm" from my side which i appologize for.
The "or" might be how Yao views it, not me ...
 Cheers

OK, cool. I overreacted for sure, and I apologize for that.
It reminded me a bit of when you said that I never got a legit second scorer for Yao, and we had a similar argument. To me, it didn't sound sarcastic, it sounded like another jab at me as a GM.

Anyways  Cheers
