My goodness, what a deal for the Blazers.

sure they lost a big-time scorer in Zach (who thinks defense is something the armed forces do not basketball players)

but got a nice scorer back in Jackson who's available on both ends of the floor PLUS the former #2 (CPU) pick in long and skinny center Mercer (who can't continue to decline any further) PLUS a nice backup in Rasual PLUS a possible top5 pick. Great job !

Now that Mercer story about being CPU pick is true, but no way he would have dropped further than 5-6 in that draft with human selection. AND he gets roughly the same stats like Chris Bosh, who everyone just waits for to finally break out  ...

The Lakers should improve a lot after this trade. They can move Zach to SF, giving them a very strong starting 5.

Now if that works, I see them tie up the score

Well, it all hinges on what the draft looks like this year.  If the Blazers can get a comparable player with that pick, they win.  If not, Lakers win.

But the Lakers have needed someone to put the ball in the hoop for a long time.  Now they have it.

I agree with Nets and Hornets, this isn't a steal for the Blazers by any means. Zach is an elite player now, although he doesn't block well, he averages 1.7 spg to go along with his 26/12/4.  Jackson is a good player but the other 3 are scrubs.  Mercer is a bust, he's averaging 8/8 but on 36%.  Like Nets said, if the Blazers can get a great player via the draft then he wins it, if not the Lakers do.

the lakers did win big....

the get a scorer who should play very well next to haywood and if bosh can play some SF the pick will be a late lotto...
also i can´t see how jackson who is the same ballplayer like zach will improve them ... mercer is a joke .

Late lotto?  The Lakers have as much shot of getting out of the top 10 this draft as I have of dating Evan Langoria.

I agree too, it was a risk i had to take. It's also part of why i traded fox, now i have loads of money, 2 possible TOP 5 picks, or 1 TOP 5 and one TOP 15 or TOP 10, Zach sux defensively altough offensively he's an animal, jackson is fine substitute for Fox,other's were fillers, now i have to see if my risk was worth or not, and see which draft order by 2 picks will have, altough i wanted Bosh to be included in deal instead of those fillers, but i wouldn't be able to get a pick then or jackson either,so we'll see if risk was worth or not.

I think the Lakers got a steal here. Can't believe Portland went with this trade, when I had an offer on the table that, in my eyes, is a hell of a lot better then this deal.
