By changing the position of a player, it simply shows you how they will perform when they play there. Ratings are not constant. A 6'11" pf's defense would be worse if he's asked to defend a sg on the perimeter. Changing their positon let's you view how much they will change when they play a different position. However, how a player does is determined by where he's placed in the deptch chart. The fact that you have him listed out of position on the roster makes no difference. But I was testing some players because I actually play them out of position. So I wanted to see if they would do better at that other position. For example, Gordon plays better D at the PG spot, but for now I have to keep him at SG. I haven't seen it happen before. I moved Bobby Jackson to SG, but I will bring his position back to PG. His ratings are better at PG. Title: Note about positional changes Post by: Iverson2Korver43 on June 04, 2005, 04:46:41 PM One thing I have noticed while messing around with the program is that if you play someone out of position, more than likely they will play less minutes and the back-up at that "position" will play more due to the fact they are playing their normal position... That is one of the main reasons I like to have players positioned changed... Not sure if this is a fact that the program was set-up that way, but I have gone through about 20-30 seasons and have seen that type of correlation... Hope this helps some GM's, actually i guess i shouldn't... :wink:
